Are gearbox upgrades available? I have this same unit and it has very little power, some grass roots are stopping the times. It spins fast and digs good, until it encounters resistance.

IS the tug he does at the end to release the string from the notches? My bump feed does not work and I cant see how it would with the string in those notches

Does the pre filter go on with the foam side towards the engine or facing the air filter? My mower’s pre filter has foam on one side and a fibreglass screen on the other. Which way does it go on.

I used a modified version of this technique:: See that block of wood? I used one. Placed an extension on the torque wrench for easy torque..... SO, I kept the deck on the mower. When I retorqued the nut I put some snake oil on the threads to prevent seizing from rust etc.

Why do I have to keep my foot on the brake all the time. If I let it off it goes to fast to cut the grass. I have the throttle up to to keep the blades going fast enough to cut the grass

I have the Cub Cadet VT100 version - the same as the TB, just different handlebars and it has a front bumper that the TB does not. It’s the best tiller for clay soil. If you till through roots or vines they can wrap around the tine drive shafts and tear the seals. Like all roto tillers, be sure to check the transmission oil level prior to use for best longevity. Also like all tillers; when new be sure to grease up the axles that the wheels bolt onto - or deal with difficult to remove wheels that later rust onto the axles.

Remove guards Remove old belt Loosen 9/16 bolt on right outside pulley- using 9/16 socket on top and 9/16 wrench to hold on bottom - don’t remove just tilt it enough to get new belt over pulley. Remove belt keep med wire over front drive pulley - (9/16 bolt on left and other end slips into place through frame hole-route new pulley and tighten right pulley using socket and wrench. Test new belt with tension lever and use your hands to pull belt through its path for blades to turn. Use any adhesive tape to tape 9/16” bolt to the socket ( make hole for threads ) Mount wire keeper in place. I leave the tape and don’t put L & R guards back in place- I do put all 6 bolts for guards back on deck to keep grass out of holes Good luck

Has anyone had any luck finding FLEX Accessories anymore? I was an early adopter, actually the first person in our area to purchase one from any of the Lowes within 100 miles. I now have 2 power bases, 2 mower decks, snow blower, aerator, dethatcher and pressure washer. I'm really interested in the chipper and possibly the blower, but missed them a few years ago when Troy-Bilt clearanced them off of their website. Due to weight, it doesn't make a lot of sense to ship these, so looking for something on the East Coast within a few hours of Southwestern VA, but I know that's optimistic. Thanks in advance for your reply...

I have to say, we had the hvac contract in Charlotte NC for the testing of different riders, Troy bilt, cub cadet, mtd, a few others & I was amazed at the brutal work out given these riders, I’ve seen folks driving these over steel bars all day, plus the shaking machine to see how long the frame would last till something broke . Just saying .

My adjustment knob on the left side hanger doesn't turn either way. Even after loosening the 1/2 in hex bolt. What are we supposed to turn the knob with? Pliers will not tighten or loosen the adjustment knob
