There's nothing 'wrong' with the headset itself really, the biggest problem customer are facing is the noise issue,it's more because of the front fork not been made with high enough quality, but same I got the CK headset, problem solved and styled amplified ;)

The headset came with the T-Line is only worth about 50 pounds, I switched to the Chris King headset and increased the adviced torque by 1nM and all work wonderful now. AND the Chris King headset made the bike look so much better, don't understand why couldn't Brompton just increased that cost and make the perfect bike. The headset noise problem has turned so many potential customer down.

This seat post problem, in all Brompton models, is ridiculous! I apologize for the directness, but it is! I have two C lines, and to sintetize things, I’m o a point of having to buy a reamer (!) in order to be able to change the plastic sleeve in a easier way than having to relay on technicians that actually do not know about the issue. The last one, on Brompton shop, he turned the nut way more than the recommended (as regular bikes it is ok) and distorted the frame!! This is a Brompton mechanic (supposedly)! So My only alternative is to buy a reamer and replace my self! At the moment I’m looking for a used reamer, and the specs for the insert to help gluing the sleeve!!!

Last year I took my Superlight Brompton to Japan (3 mo), Thailand (3 mo), Cambodia (1 mo) and back to Japan (3 more mo). I carried a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, my phone, camera & charging gear. The bushings on my rear hinge got worn & I had to replace them. I'm thinking of getting another bicycle for traveling & the fragility of the Brompton's rear hinge (all that stress on it) dissuades me from buying another Brompton.

rim brakes are great, simple, light and require hardly any adjustments. I don't want to go back to constantly messing around with discs. Only thing Brompton need to sort out is the gearing. Stop this heavy, complicated, bodged half derailleur half hub setup and give us a proper simple 6 to 12 speed hubs. Sadly they are going in the opposite direction and going full derailleur...people don't want yet another thing to mess around with and adjust. Give us proper hubs.

Continentals for me. Difference on gravel is imperceptible to me vs marathon, and not noticed any increased tendency to puncture (on the experience of just two bikes, perhaps less with continental). We have two electrics, one with marathon and one with continental, and i prefer the ride of the continental in most riding. Did a 27 mile loop of Kielder water recently (all gravel, with occasional roots and sand) and both performed fine with no punctures. very occasional front wheel spin on both on steep sections but nothing to worry about.
