Ian & Caryn's UK Adventures

Ian & Caryn's UK Adventures

Is your thing watching a couple of grandparents climb mountains, wobble about on bikes and stay in luxury accommodation including Travelodge and Premier Inns? Then this is the channel for you. Yes, we are living the dream and want to share it with the world. From walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks, to cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats (summer 2021) we will make soon to be, multi-award winning short films, which will take the world by storm. Our subscribers could make double figures by Christmas, (not including my mother!) The films will inspire you to think, "Yes we too can walk and cycle around the country very slowly. We too can go to the pub and order a pint and a half of real ale. We too can buy an ASDA meal deal and eat it on a bench in Skegness." Come join us on the adventure of a lifetime.

i just found that my people came to the US from Jura in 1792. I would love to, at minimum, visit in the near future.

How the hell did you manage to get on a flight. I have tried since 2021 or 2022. Still haven't flown. In fact today I was scheduled to go on it. My flight is not till 4pm. But the pilot says due to continued rain. Then pauses like he's trying to make up something and says unstable weather. Now I looked at the weather and it says sun later this afternoon.

Cycling the loop line with my 5 year old nephew, he asked if I knew all those people I said good morning to. Explaining to him that it is customary to be polite,

A very flat short island & you’re driving your car 🤷‍♂️ .. leave the car & the ferry dock & get on the bikes you have in the back of your car! you’ll have a far greater experience.. you even have dry weather to cycle in …

Very enjoyable, thanks for taking us along with you. I often pull a trailer with my bike and find far too many obstacles on the NCR's if you have more than two wheels and end up on roads most of the time. Liked, subbed and rang your bell 🙂

You should have done this in parts rather than as one whole ride. If it was me I'd probably be in bed for a few days recovering. But you did very well . The fantastic views on other side of runcorn bridge where Runcorn hill and further down frodgem hill and Helsby hill. And also Elsmeer port.

The tpt is a great trail but don't be afraid to tailor it to your needs...there's far too many sections that go astray for no good reason. As with a lot of the national cycle network there's a habit of routing you a long way around to avoid a stretch of road only for you to join that road anyway.

When I started out on the bike I loved trails & towpaths, but now I’m mostly on roads. You can go much further exploring & it’s easier to navigate. Beginners I’d recommend traffic-free routes until you’ve improved your balance and confidence

Jesus... you'd think he's trekking over the Martian landscape! .. "2 litres per mountain" - there are no mountains there you half-wit. I turned up the other day to give it a trial run.. hungover, no breakfast, older than this guy, with 1.5 liters of total water... I did 2 of the peaks in 7 hours before I ran out of energy and 'hit the wall'. With better prep: no getting drunk the night before, porridge for breakfast, and just 2 litres of water for the three HILLS... I'd complete it in under ten hours easily.

Ahh... fab video. Tx for sharing. Especially loved the underwater shots! Brilliant :-) I found this because I was looking for more info on Gigha. We are planning a family trip there next April. We went to Arran last spring and loved it so much we decided to explore all the nearby islands! So we are staying at Gigha and Mull this time. We're going to see if we can hire some bikes from the Shop at Ardminish and go to this beach... Can't wait to have a dip in the baltic sea, lol. Whereabouts did you travel from? Are you based on Kintyre or Scotland? Or was this Gigha trip part of a larger holiday? Thanks again, Dawn.

Just train has do a few hill walks some long hikes and you'll be fine as long as you knew the basics... Don't go tui heavy with the gear and footwear... As long as your reasonably fit you'll be fine.... Its not rocket science...

Unfortunately the TPT is a bit of a nightmare, we cycled it about 10 years ago, we had the maps, on the map is makes out it was 40 miles from Liverpool to Glossop, but it was 64, it felt like it went on for ever with heavy panniers. The biggest problem is how poorly Signposted it was, once you are past Fiddlers Ferry and it sounds like it still is, we kept looking at the map, phones weren't as good then either, so after a late start, we didn't get to Glossop until about 9:30pm at night and it was dark. In the towns and cities across the country the amount of obstacles was bad too, which is shame as if you could navigate it easier, it be a good route. I often ride to Runcorn Bridge or to Fiddlers Ferry. The route to Southport is however better than it used to be, well done!👍

Thanks, great video, great interactions too! I don't know about Peter Kay's performance but Tracy got near the feel of Car Share about the Co-op. And great advice, 'when all else fails, fly your drone around a tower'! The accents are all you need to make more good telly. Looking forward to going to Isla soon!
