That collection is awesome. I’ve been collecting mangas for six years, and even much, much longer because I started getting them for the first time in 2011 when a friend gave me a Naruto manga. As far as my collection now, I have all of Naruto, all the current volumes of Boruto, all of Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, all the current omnibuses of One Piece, a few volumes of Bleach, all of Yu Yu Hakusho, all the currently made volumes of Hunter x Hunter, every single Yu-Gi-Oh! volume as well as all the spin-off mangas of it, I’m working on finishing Rurouni Kenshin, I have all the current ones for My Hero Academia, One-Punch Man, all of Dr. Stone, Food Wars, Assassination Classroom, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, some of Jujutsu Kaisen, Slam Dunk, Haikyu, D.Gray-Man, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, Kaiju No. 8, Shaman King, Toriko, Gintama, Blue Exorcist, Undead Unluck, all of the current volumes of Black Clover, all of Death Note, the first volumes of all the JoJo parts so far, some of Inuyasha and Yashahime, some of Black Lagoon, all of Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, as well as all the Colossal Editions of Attack On Titan and all the Deluxe Editions of Berserk. I’m hoping to get a box set for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: Re. A good amount of these were hard to get since some weren’t sold where I am, I had to order some series from America like Yu Yu Hakusho, Shaman King, Toriko and Gintama. I like to have all my Shonen Jump mangas together and I personally prefer getting omnibus versions of manga so a lot of the ones I listed are in 3 in 1 omnibus editions. I wish a lot more had omnibuses, but I’m still super happy with my collection and can’t wait to get more.

I completely understand how you feel about goodnight punpun. The only reason I actually read it was because I bought the entire series out of impulse. I didn't like the first volume and I didn't like many of the others except vol 4,6, and 7. I read it b/c everyone would say how good it was. But even after I finished reading it all, I didn't feel much. However, I distinctly remember talking to my father about it because I wanted to review and reflect on what I felt like was an anticlimactic series. But as I spoke aloud, I began to cry. Realizing how it was written and the intention as well as the foreshadowing within the series made me adore it so much. I felt extremely sad, but after a day or two, I reread it and my appreciation grew a lot more as I felt I was learning more about the story/message and myself. it's now my favorite series by a long shot and I can't imagine anything ever topping it. Also, I don't like the fanbase for it at all and I never interact with them but I like talking to people who dropped it because I know how much I wanted to skip on the series. It means the most to me out of anything I've read and I've bought both his art books in Japanese since that's the only way it's available as well as got his short stories in french since they're not licensed in English. Again, I don't want to get your hopes up about the series, but I know just how kind of bored and "meh" I felt about it during the entire thing (even to the literal end). Even though the story is sad, I would call it more of a true psychological horror than anything. Even the writing doesn't permit you to be sad. However when you realize that the lack of written sadness is intentional, that's what makes it upsetting and kind of horrific. But again, the way people describe it doesn't really reflect what I read and that's why I generally distance myself from them. But I realized the reason why many people say it's so sad is because they're young and don't understand much of the concepts outside of just the imagery. And since they're young, they're a loud (hopefully) minority. But yeah, maybe this would convince you to pick it up again but it's okay if you don't. I just felt like writing about the series.

I wouldn’t say it’s exclusively about toxic relationships. It’s more of a coming of age story about two main leads coming together from completely different backgrounds - but there are a lot of unhealthy relationships along the way. I think the way they handle the toxic relationships in this series feels realistic without romanticizing it which is why it is so popular!!

life update: I did not get VIP for their upcoming tour in 2023 :( I did get 100 level tickets and I'm going with my best friend so I'm still excited nonetheless but I fear that I peaked with kpop ticketing with Twice's concert in 2022

Imo I think welcome to the nhk should be ranked higher in this list maybe A+ since of the deep meaning behind the story and how impactful it was to me at least and many others, not really sure what the manga covers since I have only watched the anime

I really love the Tokyo ghoul manga it’s sad that how badly the anime failed on sticking with the original story I loved how kankei was a vigilante instead of joining the group who literally tried to kill him?? Like that part in the anime made no sense and how the anime missed a whole arc about the doctor who turned kankei into a ghoul, the manga covers so much more.

Good call with Shugo Chara. It's a big reason why I have trouble finding Shoujo series to get into, because age gaps between minor girls and adult men is so prevalent. There's a word for this, it's called grooming. Shoujo's target demographic is more like 13-17 and....teenagers ARE still children and are STILL easily subject to being conditioned by and influenced by outside messaging. Because their brains are still developing. Its very apparent that this trope is specifically selling them the idea that what is actually predatory behavior from adult men, isn't predatory at all but is in fact, romantic. This is a lie directed specifically at the exact target demographic of victims of this predatory behavior by men and constructing a false narrative that leaves them open to be abused in real life if an adult male acts on his choice to abuse teenage girls who neurobiologically speaking, cannot consent and are highly suggestable. Even adults aren't always immune from outside reinforced messages within their culture, so to think teenagers who are bombarded with this positive narrative of age gaps being romanticized instead of being narrated as predatory, are gonna be able to conclude that this is paedophilia propagandized towards them, and in fact, is specifically is targeting them....is giving way to much credit towards their ability to process something that in which they are at a disadvantage of processing, and not enough credit to the understanding of those within the field of the entertainment industry, to use the methods of operative conditioning to sell specific ideas to become normalized in the wider culture and society.

How many series do you read at the same time? I thought it’s better to focus on one, finish it and more to the next one… don’t you get confused/forget characters when you switch between series ?

I usually read two series at the same time and I try to make sure that they're very different from one another (like Tokyo Ghoul to Princess Jellyfish). When I do it that way, I don't get confused with characters since the settings and everything are so drastically different from one another. But if there's a large gap between my dropping a series and picking it up again, I will forget and then have to go back to recall information lol

yes I think I do. The biggest reason why is because I read while I commute to work and it's just generally quicker for me to read a chapter of a manga versus watch an episode of an anime whenever I have small pockets of free time

Welcome to the NHK!! I have the anime, novel, and manga. It’s crazy how different each is. Mainly is the amount of drug use. The novel is by far the most graphic. The anime doesn’t really mention drugs. And the manga is right there in the middle. I got the manga and novel when they were cheap as crap. They are rather expensive now unfortunately. And yeah half of mine is yellow and the other half is white paper. It’s rather annoying.
