Anybody else on this thread present at Milwaukee County Stadium on June 30, 1978 when a then-fledgling band named Journey OPENED for Cheap Trick who in turn warmed up the crowd for Heart? Believe it or not -- the headlining act that night was (gasp!) Ted Nugent. These days, The Nuge is lucky to have paying gigs at biker rallies and gun shows.

  • @karengarrison3666

Agree, Nugent sucks. I saw Montrose M ountain and Nugent in Detroit. Nugent was a mess, falling into his amps by the shoulders repeatedly. The crowd waited for him to cleanup his act for about 15 minutes, he did not and was booed off the stage. Montrose came back on and the crowd went nuts in appreciation ~ they were electrifying! ❤

Several legendary guitarists have some seriously massive guitar collections but Rick surely has to be in the top 3. That red 'Firebird' is insane. The legendary genius of Def Leppard Steve "The Riffmaster" Clark had several 'Firebirds' - one of them was with 3 Humbuckers and a Kahler. It is insane - bright cherry red. Steve signed to Gibson around 1986, same time his best mate Collen signed with [Grover] Jackson. Steve's creme Les Paul Custom, 3 Humbuckers and Kahler is for me the most brilliant guitar I will eve see. I've seen videos of Rick's guitar collection and it's so big he has to use a fucking storage complex. That Cheap Trick are still rocking is a gift for fans.
