Hey Kelly..... you can't dabble in the run game and don't have the quarterback to be a passing offense. Their defense was weak and their front four got pushed around.

Following that year ND had to commit to a limited ACC schedule and had to let the Michigan games go. Of course, Michigan said that ND was opting out because they were afraid to play them anymore.

True, although the quarterback may be at fault as well, considering the power he applied to the football as he made the throw. In other words, I think he threw it too hard, causing the receiver to drop the ball. Also, he threw it behind him, so that made it tougher on the receiver.

ND had a lot of NFL talent on the 2015 team. I just hate that Jaylon had to play on that mediocre at best defense. BVG....was awful. He wasted Tillery, Smith, Redfield, Day, Rochelle, Okwara, Russell, Luke, Shoemate. They all had elite talent.

Brian, Kelly should’ve never hired him. His defense is way too hard to learn in a year. It’s made for the NFL where they can study it nonstop not college kids. Brian Kelly has chance of national championship. Notre Dame had talent that year. They just needed a great defensive coordinator.

Sheldon Day and Jaylen Smith just imagine if they had a great defense coordinator. That could’ve been a championship defense. Malik Zaire doesn’t get hurt. I believe we had a chance at the national championship.

Man, CJ Prociese was a great runner. Almost like a Walter Payton punish the defense for trying to tackle him. Also had William Fuller, who was a home run threat every time he touchable . Spread the defense out so they can’t stack the box and the safeties can’t cheat up. Notre Dame had a championship team just crap coaches.

ND was loaded on offense in 2015. Should've beaten Clemson...should've beaten Stanford, too many injuries late. OSU was the better team. I felt bad for Jaylon, best LB in the country playing on a subpar defense.

If ND had Clark Lea instead of BVG and Matt Balis doing conditioning, the 2015 team would have been a playoff team, and could have competed on even footing for the title. It is amazing that BVG held Jaylon Smith to single digit tackle for loss each season of his whole career, while Clark Lea got double digits out of Tevon Coney and Asmar Bilal (neither of them bad, but not at all on Jaylon's level).

I can see why Bill chose Richards. He's very smart and that makes up for not being physically gifted as other safeties. He looks like a sure tackler. He doesn't get beat or give up big plays. Plays the ball at the highest point. Actually is more athletic than he's given credit for. He's physical and can play man press if Bill needs him to. I would've liked for us to wait for him in the 4th. Pretty sure he would've been there. But I actually like this pick from a personnel perspective. He's a complete player
