There are many things that can stop a steam train now that did not exist in the past including lack of coal or water. They were in the past quite reliable

Thank you for this footage shot behind GREYHOUND, which donned BR Blue last month. Now she is a lookalike to GLORY/ONSLAUGHT. While I love these 2 splendid Diesels, I do not understand the idea of having two identical engines around, though I know that their home sheds are miles apart. In a bird´s eye view of Kidderminster station I see a striking number of Diesels in BR Blue livery. Is this SVR´s latest fad?

It certainly is. The majesty of the Severn Gorge and Shropshire’s countryside plus the excellently preserved locomotives make for a brilliant heritage line, especially when the diesels are out to play

Thank you! I wouldn’t exactly call Stafford station beautiful- it’s a bit of a concrete mess that’s been there since 1965- but you certainly get a beautiful variety of trains passing through!
