If the bagasse/ coir is cut fine, it could be mixed with cement slurry and poured into a mould with an internal mould,to make light weight eco friendly pots for home gardening. The natural fibre being high in lignin would last 40-50 years without decomposition. The cement concrete would also provide needed silica, calcium and magnesium to the plants grown in such fibre reinforced concrete pots.

To be honest: I do not like it at all - it looks really awful ! BUT: The idea is not bad ..... In the beginning I thought "Oh, how clever, to lower the weight of the beton..." and "Yes", I can imagine, that these cans - or even waterbottels - covered in a cement / beton - block could do a good job.... Years ago a guy in Germany produced little clay-balls and fit them into concrete. These blocks were more elastic and had MUCH less weight .
