Great video looks like a lot of fun
Thanks my friend! It sure was! Thanks for watching
Awesome video and cool encounter with Park Ranger. Nice to give them a shoutout also. I like NET's but don't like a lot of them often think they own a specific frequency. 73 W3GTR
What antenna setup is that?
It’s the Buddipole. Thanks for watching!
Same here. My rangers have been super cool. I’m Here in NC. One had his license and joined us after his shift. *he mentioned they have a shortage so if you love the outdoors and looking for a career change or know someone tell them to consider being a Park Ranger*
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching
I love the background music dude!!! Catch you on the air RSGB IOTA event!
I need to try this POTA thing...I am new to the hobby so it should be fun...I guess. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
Absolutely!
-. .. -.-. .
Thanks!
Nosey government employees who love to say 'no" to anything they don't understand. But out bozos.
Great story, my ears perked up when you mentioned Georgia and the severe thunderstorms! I recently moved here after living in the NE for 30 years. Wow, the storms here are SERIOUS. LOL. 73
Thanks my friend! Yes they are lol. 73 my friend!
Very informative overview video, Jeramy. BTW - you were my first AK POTA contact, you made this east coaster very happy when you worked my weak signal! 73 w3rrm
Thank you my friend! That’s awesome, glad to hear things like this. Thanks for watching, 73!
I would love to make a QSO eith you and all the other K4 stations. 73 de KH6DC
Thanks my friend, Hawaii is easy from here! Thanks for watching, 74
Thanks for the P2P. I remember recognizing your callsign that day. Keep it up, you’ll be able to call CQ in no time.
Thanks my friend and for the patience and P2P! 73 my friend!
Nice very informative video, thanks ! I've read it's basically an NVIS antenna in the horizontal dipole position. Do you think the long version gets it high enough that the elevation angle is significantly lower than the 9' version and results in better DX ?
Only 40M will have NVIS, but the higher you get the better. The dx is great with the long version. I’ve mad contacts all over with it. Thanks for watching my friend, 73
Have you made a contact with Russ on 40m ? Was this CW pota 4 weeks after you started practicing? Thanks for the channel
Not on 40m but I did on 20. Yes this was about a month after. Thanks for watching! 73
Great video! de W2CSI
Thanks my friend and for watching! 73
Thanks to this video I get mine and a love it, here in Alaska it really works!
I’m glad it’s working for you my friend!
LOL I see that Zyn on your desk. And it's my favorite flavor of Zyn.
Does it do cross band rx tx for satellites?
No, unfortunately it doesn’t. I wish they made one for satellites specifically
Just passed my tech. Kl5TU found you on you tube today. Studying for general. Hopefully I'll be on the air soon. I am in Soldotna
That’s awesome my friend! Congratulations! Be careful, it’s very addicting. Thanks for watching, 73
the same thing happened to me ,ranger curiosity I like talking to them , I was using an inverted v cut for 80 meter ,
Nice! Yeah I’ve never had an issue with them. Thanks for watching my friend! 73
Thanks for sharing - I learned CW in the Navy some decades ago, and my advice for anyone learning is listen to the sound of each character. Learn similar characters in groups so you can differentiate them, i.e. E, I, S, H; T, M, O; A, U, V; W, J; N, D, B; R, K; F, L; P, X, C; Q, Y; G, Z once you get all the letters digits are easy, and you can start adding punctuation and special characters. I'm a new ham and it's been many years since I used CW, so I expect I would struggle at 10wpm, but getting my HF station together and looking forward to having my first attempt at an amateur CW QSO. Will listen out for you on air soon 73s, John 2M0IOQ
That is awesome my friend! Hope to get you in the log. Thanks for watching, 73!
it looks pretty sturdy but not something I could pack light with, I noticed in your other video you had a TX-500, i would recommend checking out the sotabeam antennas with one of their tactical poles, its pretty dang light. they have 4 versions of the antenna. 20-40 meter, 20-30-40 meter, 20-40-80 meter and 10 though 60 meter (use with tuner)
I have used those. Pretty nice setup. I gotta get me another one! Thanks for watching my friend, 73
Nice job on teaching the hobby and POTA. KJ7BPN Keep up the good work in Alaska. It’s always nice to get Alaska in WA State.
Thank you my friend and thanks for watching! 73

A great future for new radio amateurs begins with the support of experienced comrades! 73, gentlemens!
Thanks my friend! Hope all is well. Thanks for watching, 73
I am doing the Ninja thing too. I think it helps. Good luck with it (I need it too). What happens to me is I hear a string of code and my mind just cannot pick up the individual letters. It just turns into noise.
It does me as well if I’m trying to copy to fast. It just takes time. Stick with it and thanks for watching! 73
Always Always Always - Enjoy the Drone footage you put in there ! That was truly fun to watch. The only thing that would have made it better for me would to have been there to enjoy it as well !!
Thank you my friend, I sure do appreciate that! Thanks for watching and 73!
GREAT Job Adam - Nope, Adam is not waving to the camera - He's showing you Alaska Reflex Action and grabbing mosquitoes out of the air. ..
Haha so true! They were out in force! Thanks for watching my friend, 73

Haha the ham scouts! 😄 Thanks Vicki!
Wow, 2x2 callsigns. they probably don't even know how cool that is.
Absolutely! Just shows we need more hams here! Thanks for watching my friend, 73
2x2? KL5TU?
Thank you very much for video 73!
Thanks for watching my friend! 73
Stumbled onto your channel love it . Started to go through all your videos Looking for a portable antenna when we go bush gold prospecting and the buddihex looks the go even though takes a while to put up . Love your tent to except we would need an enclosed base to keep snakes out . VK6BP down under
Thank you my friend for watching! The buddihex would be a good option if you will be in camp a few days. I wouldn’t want to put it up just for a day trip. Best of luck on the prospecting! I want to do more of that here. I’ve got to knock the dust off the Garrett ATX! Thanks again my friend, 73!
It was good running into you. I hope to get in your log soon.
Absolutely my friend! Thank you and look forward to it, 73
Looks like you guys had an awesome adventure!

Very nice meeting you as well my friend! Hope all is well, 73
Amazing how much easier to activate in the lower 48 than KL7!
That it is my friend! 73
I’ll get out there one year. It’ll be the closet to me out of the big 3 hamfests in the us. 73!
It was definitely an experience my friend! You won’t be disappointed. 73
Here’s to creating life long friendships & meaningful memories!!! Pretty awesome adventure! activating all 4 states Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, & Kentucky!!! ❤💙
Absolutely! What a trip and thanks again Vicki!!

Thanks my friend! 73
Nice 👍🏻
Thanks my friend and for watching!
I’m gonna be sending off my paperwork to become apart of the Handiham program and I’m so excited to get the ball rolling for this. I’ll also be ordering my radio, and saving up for my antenna which is gonna be the alpha hextenna hf/vhf/uhf
That’s awesome my friend! Congratulations
@@KL7ECoutdoors thank you
Jeremy, i just received my hex thanks to your recommendation. Was wondering if that was the 7m Mast Werks. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching my friend! The mastwerks tripod I have is the 10m. We did use the 7m during our Alaska rove. If you plan on doing a lot of travel with it especially with airlines. I would do the 7m as it packs the same length almost as the hex. 73 my friend!
@@KL7ECoutdoors thanks, I was leaning that way.
You gotta join the net and put every single participant in you POTA log 😎
OM Jeramy on Air CW from Alaska - great job, dear friend! 73

Absolutely! Shoot me a email, [email protected]
Great activation! I envy your portable antenna, still saving for a buddystick pro. Keep enjoying the outdoors! DV1K 73
