  The MSA banned this car and many others because they were spaceframes. Now that the current Rally1 WRC cars are spaceframes, and that's fine with the FIA, maybe we might see/hear some old favourites out on the stages again. I saw the Pug many times, up close whilst marshalling scruitineering, on the stages and down at the Goodwood FOS. I miss it a lot. Both signt & sound.

  @@lukeharvey2006 Shame it went on the Wyedean would have been good for you to do more stages. I'm just picking a few events here and there for fun but did Malcolm Wilson, Rallynuts, Wyedean and Grizedale Stages this year.

  @@1Rallyst3ve nice. I missed the Wyedean unfortunately as I was in Italy for Rally Legend. Not sure what first event next year will be, Riponian in Yorkshire possibly. That was a great event!

  @@lukeharvey2006 Sounds good bet you enjoyed Rally Legend, guess bit like Goodwood one of those you should do at least once. Never been to Riponian i enjoyed Rallynuts was a good mix of cars and was nice to be back out in Wales after covid restrictions!

  The guy brushing the tires clean need as pair of gloves because his hands will be shredded if he finds a nail or a pop rivet, which are very common in race car paddocks.

  True. I used to go marshalling just to see/hear the Pug. After it was banned, the allure to go stand in a wet Welsh forest all day to wait for Formula 1000 Micras to wheeze past kind of died.

  Just found this video, it's great! I absolutely love the sound of Andys Peugeot! ! This what a real rally car should sound! !! I remember hearing this car first before it was anywhere near me!! I have some stunning photos of this car in action at the Wyedean rally! Such a shame that it had to stop rallying. Great video, just that engine sound! ! Cracking! Cheers to all involved. 👍

  Amazing footage - I was wondering if I could ask your permission to extract audio from this clip (and others) to use as sound effects in a not-for-profit audio-adaptation I'm producing of 'New Corner', a short ghost story by LTC Rolt, set during a disasterous hill-climb event circa 1938. Rolt was among the founders of the Prescott course and appears to have based his fictional 'Highbury Hill' on Prescott, so it seemed appropriate to try and source sound effects "from the source", and you've got some of the best quality recordings I've seen of appropriately vintage cars burning petrol, dope and rubber on the bends and corners of Prescott.

  Great video, it really captures Shelsley and the sport. I was a regular at Shelsley in the '80s and '90s pitting and prepping with my late good friend Alan Payne of Smiley Riley, the Ralt and latterly his SA4 Anson fame. Now living in New Zealand, for me, this video captures the spirit, the occasion, and fond memories of great days wonderfully well.
