    488,000 weekly wage would mean around 25 million per year but if its 15 million per year then its around 288,000 per week, so which value is it or are there other sources of income.

    @@Dazhdaha These are rumoured numbers and this is some back-of-the envelope maths so as I mentioned in my comment, take the wages with a pinch of salt but to answer your question 25m a year at an approximate 40% tax rate does churn out 15m year net. So the weekly number I mentioned is in the right ballpark. That is... if he pays taxes at 40% 😅

    So Aston Villa was valued at £200M just two seasons ago! And Brentford think they are now worth £400M! Yeah right, lets see who actually buys them and for what! Theyll be in a relegation battle next season, and likely back in the Championship before long. Accountants will say anything to a club regarding TV value, as long as they are getting paid a chunk....to say nice things! 😂

    I am watching the Brentford story closely. They have been up for sale for many months but so far there has been nothing in the public domains that suggests they’ve had much interest. If they sell Toney and stay in the Premier League I’m sure they’ll have some suitors

    Following Wrexham I’ve taken an interest in English Football, and stumbled upon Brentford, and now this video. I’ve wondered if Wrexham has considered following this model of having a Wrexham B team rather than an academy. Especially considering they will need to acquire a training ground to run an academy. Seems like a team can make do with a much smaller/cheaper training facility if there is just a Women’s team, a First Squad, and a B team.

    Of course its paying off, your not taking into consideration lots of other revenue like both Rob and Ryan have mentioned before when answering this question, the massive popularity of the documentary alone is bringing in millions and they are not paying any big celebrities to star in it. This will only draw more money and more big investors wanting to get involved in the future aswell

  • @TheLongPlayUK

    @simonsez28916 күн бұрын

    @TheLongPlayUK Well it was Rob and Ryan that said many other revenue streams I don't profess to know them all but I don't doubt they exist, the many lucrative sponsorship deals far exceeding what other clubs around them or in championship will match due to their fame, merchandise sales alone will be a lot of $$$....They have and will continue to sell a hell of a lot of shirts. Absolutely there are examples of ownership not going well early but this isn't that.

  • @alexanderrose1071
    @alexanderrose10713 сағат бұрын

    It is for TV content. Ryan specifically has helped grow several businesses (Aviation Gin/Mint Mobile) that ended up selling for many hundreds of millions of dollars. They see how much the club value has grown by, and that’s their marker for business success. Whatever money the team makes now, is put right back into the club. They’re losing plenty of personal money now, yes, but they’re well on their way to having a team valued for over 100 million pounds. Also, they’ll eventually take profits from the club, once they feel like they’ve properly built all the needed infrastructure.

  • @mikeh4818

    @@alexanderrose1071 yeah, I agree. I just wish they wouldn't do that. The average laymen doesn't understand the long term profitability Rob and Ryan stand to make. The documentary can come off across as a little self-rightous. I'm sure they both love the growth of the Wrexham community, but they stand to reap big rewards. The show at times paints them as non-profit organizers, doing it all out of the goodness of their heart. So much curating in all docuseries, it's not unique to just this show

    Good video …. Well produced but you kind of missed out on how well structured/financed the club is… it’s hard to see as the accounts are a year behind. The main issue driving debt to owners is promotion through the leagues. The first year that Wrexham remain in the same division then costs will normalise and allow the income growth to catch up.

    @@TheLongPlayUK i think it 100% depends on where you are and what experience the fan is looking for. For me, I protested when my local club sold even 10% because I want my local club to be 100% fan owned, not even JUST 50+1, so for me it doesn’t go far enough. and even within the 50+1 rule we’ve seen possibilities of investment by companies (Hertha bsc in the second division for example promised 99% of their profit or some insane number like that, or Leverkusen which just got the invincible season in the opinion of many only because they’ve been able to live with a huge transfer deficit because of the investment by their company) so it doesn’t even protect from the unfairness of a club ruining the league balance with money that other clubs can’t dream of! Which… will sound strange because I will end his with saying that 50+1 is one of the greatest things in modern football because in Germany our clubs are an extension of our community. In England such a rule in my view would not work out the same way since fans don’t see the club in that same way! Apologies if this is very mixed together it’s just such a complicated topic that i think really is a German only thing, but of course on the European stage we’ve seen that even the German way can work

  • @1draigon
    @1draigon8 күн бұрын

    @@TheLongPlayUKto put long thoughts into a „short“ message; even with our rules it doesn’t seem to stop money from influencing our game (Wolfsburg, Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Leverkusen, and in some ways that don’t fully break 50+1 even augsburg and Stuttgart) so from the outside it would seem like it’s not working when you only see winning as the goal. But my club just got promoted into 2nd Bundesliga and two years ago I protested when they planned to even sell 10% because for me it is just inconceivable to have any kind of investment EVEN if it doesn’t influence anything. That of course doesn’t make sense to someone that didn’t grow up in this situation, and telling an English fan that hey his club might not get stars anymore, and they might go down to the third league or even lower would be impossible I think. I also only pay 15€ for my standing ticket (160€ for a full season) and already have a bus ticket worth 7€ included in that… and that is important to me, but I again don’t think it’s a priority for English fans. So…. In conclusion (again) different goals of the fans make it impossible to convince an outsider of why it’s such a good feeling to not have investors at the club

    Like the video overall, but it also frustrates me how this isn't an accurate portrayal. The image shows rob and Ryan with -£8.9m. From Rob and Ryan's perspective, the Wrexham project includes the football club, and the documentary. There's no way to know exactly how much the documentary makes - particularly in terms of profit, but various sources talk about c£400k revenue per episode. It's hard to know how that converts to profit... But considering the biggest cost to most shows is talent, which in this case is almost 0... I can't see a world where it doesn't generate millions. I think this would have just been a far more accurate assessment of you'd thought about the entire venture, which is, ultimately, way more relevant.

    I just watched this too. He clearly labelled the documentary as their most prized asset and clearly made it out that its the thing that is responsible for a healthy chunk of their fan engagement. One key thing is that not only would Wrexham be worth hundreds of millions if they were to make it to the Premier League ... they were bought for a 2 million investment and would TODAY be worth 10 million or more if sold, so the capital gains of the club are keeping pace with the amount "owed" to the co-owners. While they are going to make a push for the playoff spots at the very least, so spending on players will rise again, I expect the 5 million pound loss is going to go down -- not just from the growth in sponsorship income, but also from a move of their kit to a first tier sports merchandiser. For the last two seasons, Wrexham shirts were constantly sold out.

  • @TheLongPlayUK

    I recorded this before the announcement of the investment in Homage. Another shrewd move which will allow them as you say, to benefit even more from their massive retail presence. from my perspective, it is also to do with increasing competitions and expansion of the internet. when I was a kid in the 90s, Nike and Adidas were the big names for cool kids to wear. Puma was around but it was rare. back then it was a time when kids only knew fashion from TV athletes and peers. but now a days, people can learn about other brands through internet, youtube...etc, and wearing a Michael Jordan "air" does not have the same impact as it did in the 90s and early 2000s.
