UK Blues Awards 2024 UK Emerging Act of The Year nominee ‘Connolly Hayes’ comprises Jess Hayes, Frankie Connolly, Richard Clarke, Beau Barnard and Andy Wilder. 5 long-time friends playing a carefully curated blend of blues/rock/soul nationwide and further.
Jess and Frankie had already been making waves on the UK blues scene with their respective own projects, but in the summer of 2023, following a performance at the legendary Isle of Wight festival, the decision was made to combine the bands and start writing and recording new, original music.
April 2024 will see the release of their eagerly anticipated debut EP. Fans are to expect a warm combination of gritty blues, smooth soul and crunching rock. Get on board early, you won’t want to miss out. It should be quite the ride!

I can almost guarantee that Jess Hayes has paid attention to Eva Cassidy's superb cover of this wonderful song. Jess did a great interpretation.
Trying to cover this song, or any song done by the Tedeschi Trucks band, is pretty daring. Some have tried, and most have failed. But not this band. They pulled it off, and beautifully, putting their own stamp on the song. Great vocals and instrumentals. I congratulate all of you for doing the nearly impossible. I hope Susan and Derek listen to this cover. I think they'd like it.

You guys are great! Just watched Midnight in Harlem - one of my favorite songs - and I think you did it proud. I thought the vocals were spot on and then the guitar crescendo was goose bump inducing! I saw them as a trio last week in Gateshead supporting Robin Trower where they opened with this track by the Tedeschi Trucks Band. As I already had the TTB CD I was more than impressed with this version. Superb evening overall. Got the new CD signed by Jess and Frankie which I'm playing a lot.
This is sublime. To cover an amazing song and make it your own is extraordinary. It's like a beautiful poem, but in a different language - each stands alone.
