Thanks for the link, KZread a single ring chin with gymnastics rings and give it a try. It’s been easy on my joints and shoulders plus the carry over is great to bar work.

@@fitat60plus ease into then as you sink in the pocket a lot more. When you start take the slack completely out as you adjust to them. Then slowly add some slack. The intensity will go up with more slack as your deep stabilization muscles, grip and core go into overdrive. You’ll definitely pass 20 on a straight bar with some ring work thrown in.

I’m heavily into calisthenics and that man just did what 99% of gym rats can’t do. I’m 52 and closing in on a 90lb chin up. Calisthenics is king in my humble opinion, you can do it for life. Very impressive at any age.

@@fitat60plus I got stuck at 1 plate for a good 2 months, swallowed my ego and dropped back down to a 25lb plate. Like you, stayed consistent and kept going. 2 months later of 25’s and busted thru the plateau. Calisthenics is truly a life changing and life long achievement. I bet your blood pressure and blood work is a man in their 30’s. Awesome stuff! I’m grinding with ya.

@@fitat60plus I was a Navy medic stationed with the Marines back in the 80's. One part of the Marine Corps physical readiness test was doing pull ups, a perfect score was doing 20 consecutive pullups without doing what they called "gimping" which is swinging the legs to gain momentum also full extension of the arms/shoulders was required. At the rate you are improving I think you will achieve the perfect score. Good luck!

Last fall decided to do a "pushup challenge"'. I am almost 64 years old, and I do 100 pushups a day, but I am up to 2 sets of 25 reps in the mornign and 2 sets of 25 resp in the morning now. Being a weight lifter helps. I can tell and feel the difference.

I'm 5' 8.5" tall and weigh 175 pounds. I've never been a strength training coach, just one who keeps trying to learn and improve. I've actually been a pastor for over 40 years and am still pastoring a church in Minnesota. Thanks for watching and commenting!
