Two data sets A {3,4,5,6}, Mean = 4.5, std dev = 1.9149 B {3,9,12,24}, Mean = 12, std dev = 7.6485 Now how to conclude whether std dev is high or low?

I m a teacher. Just wanted to learn basic statistics. Went through many peofessionals' courses & ofcourse learned basic ideas. But this tutorial is best of all on grounds; clearifies the philosophy behind the ideas in simple words, teaches how to teach these ideas, the expressions are best of all as they cary meanings. This is what I've been looking for for very long. Thanks dear you're teacher of the teachers. With respects from Pakistan

Great explanation! This is a hard topic. Somehow mathematically we divide by (n-1) to make our sample standard deviation less deviated from the population standard deviation.

This is not correct. A p value is actually the probability under the assumption of no effect or no difference (null hypothesis), of obtaining a result equal to or more extreme than what was actually observed. So, for example, a p value for two tails is not 0.25 but 0.5, because you have to include the probability of equally likely events (two heads) and that of more extreme events, that in this case is 0.

in the next video i.e. chi square 2 video, we calculated chi square value with a different formula than just summing up squares of Z scores as mentioned in this video. someone please clarify. thanks!
@pushkarwagh99745 ай бұрын
here, we did not calculate chi square as the sum of squares of Z scores like mentioned in the previous video. And also, in the previous video it was mentioned that for a chi square value with three degrees of freedom we sum 3 squares of Z scores. While in this video we calculate all 4 values. Someone please clarify. thanks!

why does the underlying population needs to be normally distributed? from your CLT video example; even if the underlying population is bimodal (let's just consider a unlikely hypothetical case that goalkeepers and defenders are much taller than players of other positions), the distribution of the means from multiple samples will always be normal right? and that should be applicable here too and shouldn't the problem be solved in the same way even if the underlying population is not normally distributed?
