First, thanks for the review, it's much appreciated! Second, you REALLY need to go and dive a little further into Mr. Lovecraft before you start belittling him to no end. He renounced his racism in the later years of his life thanks to his friends and colleagues, but most people just tend to forget to mention that little fact and play morality pariahs...irks me to no end.
@2:10 Where in the rulebook mention you need to remove 4,5,6 cards for 3 players ?
It says remove all cards of one color for three player. The other player counts use all cards. I will check that point in the video and put up an rules goof in the description

@@TabletopGamingGuild nope like I said unavailable
That was a great and comprehensive review!
Glad it helped! We love doing them!
Best unboxing, I have been watching tons of unboxing videos and was impossible to see the story cards until this one. Thanks a lot! good job
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! We have fun making these
Ok…so I have heard repeatedly that you’ll need to know the 5e rules in order to play this campaign/setting. What specific rules is that? Outside of the action economy and combat…what other 5e base rules are needed if you play this using only the setting of LOTR?
Action economy and combat is really all you should need from 5e for this game. Because it is 5e they also use the D20 instead of a bunch of D6s, the usual due for Free Leagues games. Honestly, if you are running the 5e version of this game/setting all you should need is the freely available basic rules for 5e.

This is such an amazing game. Great video!! If anyone is on the fence, please get it. This will be something I play with my children when they are older. It’s just so so so so good.
Glad you enjoy it! I also love this game and play it frequently
thank you for this
No problem! Loved paying it!
I don't know how it happens, but the best part about this game is that people who are usually great at bluffing games end up doing terribly at this game.
I have noticed that too!
I am so glad you enjoyed the game--and thank you for the fantastic preview!
Thanks! It really is a gem of a game!
Hi. I have two questions. Does combat academy get boring quickly? And is it worth it if I have never played pokemon tcg before, but have played many other card games including MTG?
My daughters play it pretty frequently but I did get bored of it. It does not take long before they want to buy more cards and make more custom decks. But for the money if you want to try out Pokemon ccg it is worth it.
@@TabletopGamingGuild thank you for the response. Wouldn't be better to start with some battle deck anyway?
You can and that is a fine way to get into the game. The board game comes with some nice pre balanced decks but nothing is necessary
This box is available retail. I think awaken realms always makes stretch goals available
Pity about the choice of (close up) art on the front. So much better art they could have used from the books.
A terrible missed opportunity. The full game is mostly a cut-and-paste from their game Modern AGE. What's left makes little sense, the new-ish material often contradicts the source (Modern AGE). If you are a huge fan of the setting. Read the books and adapt to the sci-fi game of your choice. The Expanse AGE game is fundamentally broken. Note, the game is set on the books and not on the TV show. I wrote a lengthy 2-star review (under Michael) on Drivethru RPG if you'd like to read more. One thing that particularly amused me was financial transactions...characters pooling resources to make a large purchase become richer after the funds are divided and returned. The mechanic as written allows the characters to become infinitely wealthy. Just one of the many unplaytested rules.
Thanks for the video! Could you share the link to the tabletop mod you are using? The one I tried to use cannot load most of the images now.. 😢 Thanks!
It seems the one we used is no longer functional
Thank you for your review! If you have any questions, feel free to write them in the comments and we will try to answer :)

I always wonder who measures the giants for their armour? Who makes it? Do giants have to pay for it? Where do they get the iron from? Do they mine and smelt it themselves or do they travel to the nearest market place?
lol, never thought about that
Nice instruction, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!
I was excited about this but now that I see they stripped the madness/insanity rules, I have no interest. Thats always been a major part of the game that my friends and I have loved for decades.
I also felt that was a mistake
I've found a copy in for $120 AUD. Should I snap it up?
I would but it is going to be reprint. It will probably be at least that price or more though
I don't think Tokaido counts, it is an action track rather than a rondel. A rondel has to be a loop of some kind where the spaces are the actions that can be taken.
Are the other campaigns designed to be continuations of Raven's Purge?
You could definitely string them together if you wanted, but they are not specifically designed as continuations.
@Peter-su8fd with the Aslene being in the Ravenlands, would this book be useful for a Raven's Purge game?
I pronounce many of the names like you, but I bet that we're wrong. I think that the final e on the names are pronounced in Swedish.
I just bought this and the person at the game shop explained it but I am a visual learner so I'm glad I came across your video. Great, concise explanation!
Thank you I am glad the video helped!
Would rather they give us 1 or 2 more maps vs the overlay piece.
Good content but the music while you are talking takes away from it. In future u might want to play it during the beginning of video but def not while talking.
Another reviewer mentioned that because there are only 7 floor cards (files and passwords), they couldn't make complete sets of the NET Architectures they anticipated in the adventure. Do you agree with this criticism? Would buying multiple decks solve this problem, and if so, how many decks total?
Thanks :)
Excellent overview of the game in advance of our play thank you!
Your welcome! How did your play go?
This looks fun, but it also looks like it gets tedious or repetitive quickly. I'm glad there's something besides dungeons, but from what was shown, it looks like those are rare.
It falls into the when waiting for something and need something fun to do category.
wow, just ordered this one. looks great. 😊 thanks for the video
It’s a great game! Hope you enjoy it as much as we have!
Great review! How old are your kids? Thinking of buying this for my 5-year old
My kids are now 6 and 8 but we played it when the one was 5 and she had a lot of fun with it..
Very helpful over view.. thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Show the games please. What's in the box.???
Have a review for each and an unboxing for each on our channel
Shadowrifts (and other Power Cards) don’t travel down the track. They go straight to the Monster Power Area and stay there until an effect gets rid of them…
Good catch, must have had a brain lapse explaining that part. Will add this to the description
@@TabletopGamingGuild There’s a lot going on and overall an excellent explainer!…
Thanks! Really enjoy playing the game.
Rolling a hexagonal pencil ✏️ is awesomeness 👍
It is! Never seen one before this
I have a game called Dynamite that has eight sided sticks of dynamite to roll.
Thank you for your thoughts on Neotopia! I am glad you liked it 😊 - André Santos
No problem it’s a great game!
Just a quick clarification here so someone does not get confused: At the end of the video when you do in-depth descriptions of the Plots, Plans and Personalities expansion modules, you switched the Plots deck and Personalities deck around when you show example cards. 🙃
Ah you are right will put a note in the description. Thanks for finding the slip up.
is it playable tho?
yeah it is. Just looks weird but other than that playable.
This system is full of problems but people just love it because they now their chances or a roll. Wish I could find a proper review.
The artwork is amazing
Hii, enjoyed the video, do you know where i could find this game online? Amazon is currently out of stock
Unfortunately it has goon out of print. Noble Knight Games has a copy but they want 95 dollars for it. Pretty much will have to look at the secondary market but you should be able to get it a lot cheaper than that.
@TabletopGamingGuild sigh, okay thanks a lot for responding
looks like this is second edition
So many bits!!!
Great explanation, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Cora and I are really pleased you enjoyed our game 😊. Thank you for your review.
Thanks for the kind review! The ice link with heroquest was accidental (I’m not sure I’ve ever played the heroquest expansions)
