Need to know something they don’t want you to know about seagull, they use epoxy attach the neck to the body and and 2 screws, nearly impossible to do a neck rest, the factory will not do it under warranty and no shop will not touch it And the neck to body construction is poorly made cause cracking of the body top

I would take the seagull line of guitars that were in your budget. Perhaps the S6 which is way better guitar for the money.

A hears as something like Taylor 114 B is the hotspot, probably its full solid C is too boomy and overtoned. liked B more, then A, and lastly C Straaaange.... 814ce is C??? In all videos on YT it was my favourit sounding guitar. But here... Somehow it was the worst :D

My preference was C, followed closely by A, and then B. Sadly, I think those demos do not do the seagull (or the other guitars) justice at all. Finger picking in that way causes too much string clanging and it's just not a good song to judge the sound. I've played the artist mosaic EQ a lot lately at my local store and it's in my top 2 for my next guitar. It sounds way better in person.

You get what you pay for, but Godin offers a lot of guitar for their price, and they are made in Canada (except for a few Art&Lutherie low-end models).
@IamTimClark Жыл бұрын
I guess my question is which of the three you heard in the video was your preference. They range in price from 2000 to 10,000 dollars CAD so that means you must always like the 10,000 dollar guitar more. How do you account for the difference between the lowest price and mid price guitar? I guess it is mostly preference. Once you pay over a specific amount the cost goes more to appointment and "BLING" then improvement of sound.
@anthonybizzell3857 Жыл бұрын
I'm glad to say my choices run A, B, then C. In order of price, no doubt. I guessed Martin and knew the Taylor (because I don't like the bright, jangly Taylor sound). Funny, I didn't guess the Seagull, considering I'm on my 2nd S6. I think mine sounds better than this sample. Admittedly not as good as the Boucher, but better than that Artist Mosaic. The bass is more defined on my S6CW.

The reference to Moody, Watch, and Spy made me choke up. I'm from St. Anthony. I've known that story and the names of those three dogs since I was a kid. Even now, I can't tell that story and talk about the plaque to their memory without a catch in my throat. I was raised with a sense of reverence for Grenfell and what he did for us, tempered with a Newfoundland cynicism at the patriarchal British colonialism of it all. I was born in the hospital he built, and if he hadn't created a situation where there were we had good obstetrical care, I'd have died at birth, and perhaps my mother would have died too. Thanks for this.

What a great find! My grandmother did missionary work in Labrador, and she met my grandfather when he was stationed there. I only recently discovered this amazing story of Sir Wilfred Grenfell, and realized it was him (or the Grenfell Society) that my grandmother was working with. I believe my great aunt also met her husband through a Grenfell connection. This song is a wonderful tribute to him, and with the photos this is a great introduction to his story. I'll enjoy sharing this with my family. Thank you so much Timothy and Sharecroppers! I look forward to visiting Labrador & Newfoundland in the not-too-distant future, to see these locations and interpretive displays in person.
