Aaron Witt

Aaron Witt

I grew up FAR from dirt and diesel.

By dumb luck, I got a job in construction fresh out of high school.

That 18-year-old, shaking in his brand-new work boots, found his life's purpose. But the work was only beginning...

Years later, while working in the heavy construction industry, I began sharing photos on social media. One, two, six, I quit my job to start a company called BuildWitt, dedicated to telling the Dirt World's (critical infrastructure + natural resources) story.

That was over six years ago. Today, BuildWitt helps the Dirt World attract, train, and retain the next generation with marketing services, training software, and world-class leadership events.

Now, I visit construction and mining operations worldwide to grow our reach and brand. Thanks to the wonder of KZread, I can share my experiences with you!

something to keep in mind about the slagpot carriers, you got the weight of the slagpot and then the contents all in the back. the fact that the carrier doesnt tip ass over backwards is amazing. unlike cranes, they dont put down extra 'feet' because most times the soil isnt compact enough, so there is a whack of extra weight upfront

waste of time many dozers in forestry work in native in tasmania without guarding better operators .. all this looks good but the margins are terrible and less than in 2004

@@andrewtilburg1942 nah mate not required marguard is a waste of time on a tractor thats not clearning . Nsw .. joke show in pine. As i said many tractors in tassie without in much much harder going . Unless some pen pusher at new forests has told you so. In 2004 d8s were getting 225 an hour to rip ground and clear in tas ,anything less than 1500 a hectare complete wastebof time. Looked at all that nsw work in 2007 nothing in it at all

China's drinking hole for when they buy Australia out from our government or when they invade. Statistically Australia is one place that would see a smaller nuclear response from our enemies of the Allies.

The aggregate from that quarry is known for producing high-quality concrete with high strength and low shrinkage. I was on a concrete placement for the aprons at Oakland airport. The concrete used 1-1/2" Aromas granite aggregate. The aprons are two feet thick. I went to a July 4th party at that quarry about 30 years ago. Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits performed. He lamented that he was performing in an effing quarry.

What I don't understand is how the loaders are dumping already crushed granite into the big crusher. Where does that come from? The video says from the scrapers, but how do the scrapers load granite? I remember Aaron visiting Chris Guins (Letsdig18) in NC a couple of years ago, and him coming across as a bit of a dork. He had a nerdy catch phrase about making dirt look pretty, which was totally cringe making. Sorry Aaron if you read this. According to Social Blade, you are making a lot more money than Chris from KZread with a lot less subscribers, so you must be doing something right.

the rock is blasted then ripped / pushed by dozers before it gets to this point. It looks fine because the equipment is so big, but it's plenty rocky as it's being fed
