Damned impressive. I thought - there must be 100 scooters here. But they were tucked away in corners, trailers and pickup trucks all over the hotel parking lot.

Is the Rincon Valley Middle School at Baxter and Middle Rincon Road still standing? How about the homes in that vicinity? Thanks in advance!
The schools are all good. Middle Rincon road escaped damage except possibly the northmost end. It's hard to tell without driving the streets because in that north area the fire missed a lot of homes and then burned homes next to them hopscotch fashion. Most of the Santa Rosa fires are under control now and everyone in the advisory evacuation zones are breathing a sigh of relief.

We need to stop filling our homes with petroleum products. Recycled plastic bags, as artificial cloth form, is horribly combustible once it gets going. We are creating our own furnaces The fuel is in the fumes. Once critical temperature is reached it is all going up and if you disturb the source it will make things worse. People don't talk enough about where the fuel is,,, its in the smoke, unconsumed,, waiting for a heat source. Attacking the flame front hinders it from liberating more fuel vapors to feed on.. We've changed the fuel dynamic while also placing more emphasis on containment rather than direct assault.

Yah, lots of visual ironies in all the destruction. I thought the family fighting to put the embers in their yard out was pretty poignant. I had to video people from a distance so as to not upset them. The northern half of our neighborhood is just gone, along with a couple other neighborhoods on the ridge and across town. Pretty mind numbing. Lucky that the winds favored us and then died down overnight and are calm today to give firefighters some traction in bringing this mess under control.
What a wonderful collection this is the best comedy team ever. They both will be missed but Dean and Jerry will lived on as a team. They both will live on their own merit as entertainers. Thanks so much for sharing this collection. I truly enjoyed it

959 Valencia St between 19th and 20th. Ted Langlais, the Batcave's "godfather", eventually bought the building and still lives there. It was fortunate that Ted was a salesman at the SF Gun Exchange and knew all the SF cops, cuz the BASH Boys (Bay Area Skinheads) had a house around the corner and would occasionally use my Mod playpals for baseball bat practice. I actually had an SF Fire Dept. inspector come by my totally illegal scooter shop and home brew garage apartment one afternoon and tell me "We like what you are doing" !! He told me to keep the gasoline can away from the welding tanks and that was it. Ted had some juice downtown, had owned Lambrettas since high school. Every 4th of July he would get a case of bottle rockets and we would make bazookas out of conduit and light up Valencia St. with bottle rocket wars. The Batcave was next door to Osento, a lesbian bath house, and pretty much every night I slipped into dreamland with their moans and gasps dancing through my head, lol! Amazingly one day, two Catholic nuns came by the shop asking if I could help fix their stove. They had rented a house across the street and were building a soup kitchen and home for battered mothers upstairs. They wore saris and I knew they were from Mother Theresa's order. They invited me to the soup kitchen's consecration and I got to meet Mother Theresa herself! I also managed to put a package of political propaganda into the hands of Archbishop Quinn at that meeting, lol! lol! My KZread channel has a video walkthrough of the Batcave, my home for the best 8 years of my life. The shop lives on at Barry Guinn's SF Scooter Center. I taught him everything I knew about Lambrettas and I'm really proud of him for keeping the flame lit.
