I've had a sort of love/hate thing going with the Edmar boucle. I love the look of the thread, but it's definitely problematic to stitch with! I do embroidery rather than needlepoint, which in a way makes it even harder because of the tighter weave of most fabrics. Of course you can couch it, but that's boring to have to do all the time. I'm currently working on a tree project, and was thinking the same thing as you...that the brown might look lovely as bark, in some simple straight stitches, long enough and spaced out enough to show the texture. I'm really drawn to the thread texture, but it's certainly perplexing to say the least! One project kit for Brazillian embroidery shows boucle flower petals, and it looks like they were done in the puffed petal stitch. That was a light-bulb moment for me, and might give you an excuse to stock pink and purple. Those are two of the best colors for flowers, and that stitch is well-suited to both the texture and the trickery of the Edmar boucle. Thanks for your take on things! <3

I used to work for Coats North America. We represented this product. It is more color fast than DMC....smoother to work with, etc. I had written an ad that was used in magazines when it was considered a distant second to DMC in quality. That ad resulted in it becoming the #1 quality leader. Did I get formal credit for it?? Of course not. C'est la vie. Anchor is imported from Germany...not England.

I adore aurora thread!!! I used what I think is the exact color you described, on a hand painted canvas of my dog. She recently passed away and I used it on her tummy and chest. It was perfection!!! Just enough fuzzy bits and the sparkle gave her an ethereal look. I’m now stitching the Danji Earth series Phoenix and I’m using it on her tail feathers. A stunning thread.

I'm going to give Cosmo a try. Love Japanese manufacturing and I can't stand DMC anymore, quality has gone down. Tangles, shreds, knots like crazy.

I searched a bunch of videos and articles, and you're the first presenter to show (a) starting the thread and (b) working around an irregular border. So many of these presentations are frustrating since they never get beyond the creation of an area that ends in the diagonal. Thank you for setting me straight. If I ever get to Philly (from Lake George, NY) I'll drop in.

Your shop looks awesome. I thought it was interesting that you and your partner have been in the floral business. I too was a florist working in the Seattle area most of my life. I do think it gave me a good artistic background for creativity stitching. I am mainly working in wool appliqué using lots of creative stitches. I have followed Sue Spargo and use lots of her threads. I see that you carry a huge selection of the same threads plus LOTS more. I will be ordering on line from you. I can’t wait for all your thread videos. What a great way to learn about new threads. I think there is a huge crossover between needlepoint and creative stitching on wool. I use a lot of threads from The Thread Gatherer in Boise Idaho. You might check them out, they are beautiful. I also use a lot of threads from The Painters Threads Collection. They are all very beautiful and would work for needlepoint too. I hope you will carry these lines as sometimes it is hard to find the color you want. Anyway, just wanted to tell you how excited I am about your new shop. I will enjoy following you, and I am thrilled that I accidentally found your video on line. Sincerely, Susan Geiser.

The first illustration for blue needle threader shows 3 positions, eye down you can put your needle according to size the white is for small needles, the outside one is for large needles. the next illustrations show using the medium size position. Your thread may have been too thick for the threader to handle. There is a video on KZread that shows how to use it. But I like your tip about the floss threaders. I will get some next time I go to the store.

I have RA for over 40 years. I have adapted many, many things. It all depends how large the project or how rapidly I am working. Then I kind of “reverse-Continental” stitch it. I do not know but that might already be a known stitch. (Like I go bottom right -> upper left). That way, less hand/wrist/ finger/elbow (whatever) pain and less fatigue. The projects I have completed in this manner always appear perfectly fine as long as you complete the entire project in the same way. I hope this is helpful.
