My favorite room in all the isles! So cosy. It just makes you want to lie down and stare at the fire. Like when we were kids.

Every once in a while I come back to this game. The fact that it didn't sell well is truly beyond me. How long has it been now? 8 years? Anyway, thanks for sharing! I'm pretty sure I've missed this in my previous play-through's.

The Dishonored games are truly second to none. Richly detailed cities, morally complex storytelling, deep and dark atmospheres and unique level design. I think they even had an exhibit in France? Clay sculptures made from the art style. A series of books...

Perhaps one of the reasons why this is one of the better scenes is because Blackthorn and Fuji didn't have a relationship and yet she protected his interests all the same. I have of course no idea what kind of relationships they had back then, where being married-off was a common practice?, but after seeing this scene, it does make you wonder how today's society would look if only we showed a little more commitment towards one another. I saw a documentary about India years ago, 3 episodes. In it there was this couple who lived on the beach and to make ends meet, at night they would run an illegal café were other people could come and have a drink. I say they, though it was mostly just her. She handled the money and customer service. He was there to make sure they wouldn't get robbed and to handle the drunks. In the morning, their young children would dress up to go to school and the father would walk them to the bus. The city would come with bulldozers and demolish all their tents every few weeks and they would set up business elsewhere. After seeing it, one key difference came to mind, between them and western society as I've experienced it. They actually needed each other: to survive and get through the day! He was also disowned and she was partially disabled. Because of these struggles they faced together, and being forced to work together, they developed a real bond. Though he was poor in terms of money. He was very rich in the one thing that really counts. (Though I'm not sure he saw it.)

I listened to a Dishonored playlist recently: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYV4j8-cYJqunLQ.html - and I was surprised to read so many nice comments. The Dishonored series definitely has a dedicated following. Even right now there is clip being recommended to me on the right from 4 days ago that says: ''Still the greatest game of all time.'' If it was up to Microsoft a game like Baldur's Gate 3 would've never been made. They didn't see any value in it, or far too little to be exact. Maybe this applies to games like Dishonored and Deus Ex as well as they are not considered ''high impact titles.''

Haha, I don't know how many days I've spend at Videoland. I practically lived there. I loved it. I don't know how many times I've rented the old G1 Transformers and Turtle tapes. When you see the things children watch today, I often wish I could just go back in time.

Every few years I come back to the Dishonored games. It's about time I replay them. I never understood why they replaced Billy Lush as the Outsider. He was great. Dishonored 2 is like Splinter Cell/Sam Fisher without Michael Ironside. Maybe not an entirely correct comparison but that's how it feels when I listen to the shrines of the outsider from the first game. Still, little by little, the games and movies we grew up with are no more. Glimpsed once, and already carried passed us.

After I saw this scene, it suddenly dawned on me that having someone by your side, perhaps even someone you might consider marrying, has absolutely nothing to do with how they look. Looks might get you a foot in the door, but it's examples like this that show why people stay together. Having someone who has your back is perhaps the most important quality we seek in a partner, above all others. I'm curious to see what happens in the 2nd season, I hope we will see more of Fuji.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people, and how quickly, all over the world, started using a 'smart' phone. It started out as a device used solely to call emergency services when in distress and not at home. Now? It's rare to find even one person who does not have one. In merely two, or three decades at most, nearly everyone has adopted this way of life. It really reminds me of what Seneca said about Stilbo and Demetrius. How it's so much easier ''to conquer a whole people than to conquer [the mind of] a single man''

I remember! ''All my possessions are with me, he said. meaning by this the very fact of not regarding as valuable anything that is capable of being taken away.'' Now that you mention it, this one also come to mind: ''When a mind is impressionable and has none too firm a hold on what is right, it must be rescued from the crowd: it is so easy for it to go over to the majority.'' (Perhaps this the worry of every parent in this day and age? It's a thin line I guess, of trying to teach them what you think is right, without being overbearing.)

@@HiddenbyLeaves And ''You should neither become like the bad because they are many, nor be an enemy of the many because they are unlike you.'' <- Like everything with Philosophy, much easier said than done. Or easier to remember than to live by. Much like Aurelius, there's value to be found on every page with Seneca.

Take a character design tip, do not make "a character" make "a character your story needs", Mizu reflects that perfectly, from her clothes, to her hiding she is woman to even her glasses hiding her eyes. Build your character around your story, not your story around your character.

''Even as a child, he had preferred night to day, had enjoyed sitting out in the yard after sunset, under the star-speckled sky listening to frogs and crickets. Darkness soothed. It softened the sharp edges of the world, toned down the too-harsh colors. With the coming of twilight, the sky seemed to recede; the universe expanded. The night was bigger than the day, and in its realm, life seemed to have more possibilities.'' - Dean Koontz, Midnight

Een kleine stille wildernis vol rozen en niet ver van zee - een kamer en een vensternis waar langvervlogen wel-en-wee weer intrekt als het avond is: van een veelbelovend leven is tenminste dit gebleven. ___ A small quiet wilderness full of roses and not far from the sea - a room and a window niche where long-lost joys and sorrows return when evening comes: at least this remains of a promising life. ___ Uma pequena e tranquila selva cheia de rosas e não muito longe do mar - um quarto e um nicho de janela onde alegrias e tristezas há muito perdidas retornam quando a noite chega: pelo menos isso permanece de uma vida promissora. A. Roland Holst, In gevaar, 1958.
