Always wanted to film edit my own videos So I taught myself from KZread videos, I go Drone /Video camera in hand and film stuff and try and put together something half decent to watch in a film.
I have been contacted by diffrent organizations who asked for permission to use my footage such as BBC and Great British Coast, Cambrian Boats in SA1 Swansea, and a Irish Film Company doing a Documentary of Swansea, and a Vietnam Film maker doing a documentry on Wales, I am Governed by Drone Laws which prevent me flying over/ around certain locations and area`s, Please Note ; Some videos are shown during bad weather and may appear Dark, I am aware, but after travelling huge distances to film a location the weather seems to have other ideas ,

Coney Beach to go, not a problem, Eastern Promenade to go for 900 Houses, NO WAY, maybe 80 to 100 houses, but that's it, forget the multy storey car park

Grew up there, went back in 04, seemed smaller than when I was a kid. The steam trains were running where the dual carrigeway is, the Victoria Pub was on Station Hill, a Fulgoni's across from there. No underpass then. The Colesium Cinema, Stonleigh Club, Antley's, Loveluck Cobblers, Duck's The Chemist, Hopkins, Madges Shop, Paul's Cafe, at the top of John St. There was a barber shop but forget the name. Great place to grow up. Miss my mates dearly.
The beach looks a bit rocky in places. British seaside resorts seem to have been in decline since the 1950s.
Vote Reform. Labour ruins everything and the Tories are useless.
I'm sure that some big fat envelopes have changed hands under desks for the planning green light for all this. Us residents haven't been given any say in this at all. They're turning this town into a hideous urban sprawl and they couldn't care less.
The planners have no idea. They are completely changing the character of Porthcawl by making these crazy decisions. It doesn’t need apartment blocks or multi-storey car parks. It needs cleaning up and putting back to being the successful town it was in the past.

I haven't been there for about 30 years and then i went about 2 months ago and loads of memories came flooding back from when i was a child . i will have to revisit this summer . bits of it looked a bit run down but thats like everywhere in wales these days sadly

Dear Dave My name is Tim Barrett and I work for PAVS in Haverfordwest. I've seen your superb drone footage of Newport, Pembrokeshire on KZread and I was wondering if you would be able to grant us permission to use a few seconds of it in a project in which PAVS has become involved. We're currently producing a video to help support a girl called Freya Terry from Newport in Pembrokeshire who's about to embark on a solo circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland as part of a mental health awareness campaign (she will be meeting community groups wherever she docks en route). Freya's journey in a sailing boat called Pink Lady is also designed to raise money for various mental health charities. In addition, we will be running a social media campaign for the entire 5 months of the voyage to help create interest and raise money for those charities. The main video is an in depth interview of Freya talking about her serious mental health problems growing up and how finding her love of sailing helped save her life. A few seconds of your Newport drone footage in this film would be fantastic and really lift the whole thing. Are there any tours to this area from London?
I spent many happy days in Porthcawl during the fifties and sixties and change has to happen, but when I visited two years ago, the first time for more than 20 years the promenade was just ugly and the whole place very tired, so sad. I'm in my seventies but it felt like Zimmer frame by Sea. Sorry to have to say that. I was glad to leave.

very nice ,but why oh why haven't they planted ANY trees at Aberavon ? its as barren as the day I left back in 1969. I live in South Australia , we have sand dunes here and fraction of the rainfall there is in Wales, scouring southerly winds for most of the year and we still manage to grow trees right on the sea front on more or less pure sand !

Porthcawl could've been a thriving tourist area if they didn't end up with the council they've ended up with. It's as though the Welsh have given up.
900 new home on the eastern Promenade car park? no way! are the council that daft? its great flat! even better when it was a pool? but houses, string up the councillors.

Lovely pictures, but one small point, they are English castles, not Welsh, they were built by an invasive force to keep the people subjugated.
