    Does it continue to grow leaves where you cut it on mother plant?

  • @christinalnelson
    @christinalnelson18 күн бұрын

    No it doesn’t - it’s possible it will begin to branch out with new branches. But once you cut a section that will stop the growth. Thanks for watching!

    Great tips! I love a big sink. I use some enormously big pots and pans; some are cast iron and can't be put in the dishwasher. Also some of the big electric appliances need to be carefully hand washed. If I was stuck with a double sink, I would have to wash some of this stuff with the garden hose outside. I am getting ready for a remodel and we are putting a 2nd sink in the island. It's nice to have options for people who use their kitchen differently.

    It's Medusa Greek mythology. I was just watching your video because I was searching for information about my plan as well. And I was led towards your video and it's fantastic. And I am getting ready to order high quality plant snips and new pots and plums and all kinds of stuff to start cutting my plant down. I can't believe you can actually take sections and then the bottom roots and the top starts to grow up as amazing I never knew this until today and you can see the date I just sent this and I've had this plan for 20 some years it was for my grandfather that my mom said that he gave snippings to people and I never understood that until actually this evening watching videos because I need her out my plan. Anyways great video I subscribed and keep up the good work You're doing great

    Doing a renovation this summer. The house was built with soffits (that did not have drywall behind them- insulation was blown in from the attic), but I wanted cabinets that are ceiling height, because I am nearly 6’, and my ceiling are only 8’,, so had someone take out the soffits and put in rough drywall. Doesn’t match the rest of the wall or ceiling at the moment, but will be covered by the new cabinets and crown molding when added, so not a huge issue for me at the moment. It’s only a temporary situation.

  • @christinalnelson

    I’m sure the renovations will turn out great! Annoying to move soffits but many times a good decision!

  • @christinalnelson
    @christinalnelsonАй бұрын

    I’ve never had luck using soil but rotting is a risk. I do think that dracaenas are some of the trickier plants to propagate. Monstera and FLF are a bit easier and less prone to rot. Thanks for watching!

  • @christinalnelson
    @christinalnelsonАй бұрын

    Everything died! My mother plant was already compromised so this was a last ditch effort to salvage something but I think everything was too sick to survive. I’ve since bought a new dracaena and have successfully propagated a cutting. It takes a long time to root is what I’ve learned! Longer than other types of plants.

    No dishwasher in my kitchen. I have a dual sink, but is a bit small for things like half sheet pans and my cast iron skillet. It's doable. For my 1950's small kitchen I opted for more storage and I have 3 children and a husband that help with dishes so it works for us. More storage for all my cake decorating supplies was a must.

    I have a pot-filler I never use. Even though we have a whole-house water filter, it's not RO water which we prefer. Now the seams of the faucet are turning green. It's also potential for water damage in the walls. Not to change the subject, but this house also has a ceiling bath "faucet/spout" - ooh, how trendy? It's actually ridiculous, and splashes everywhere. I NEVER use THAT; when I fill the tub by pushing on the control "button" with the hot water, sometimes the ceiling spout will splash cold water on me (even though I don't use it, apparently seals can disintegrate, idk what the plumbing issue is) > my point is extra water lines are a nuisance; next home I'm simplifying.

    Hey I have a small one I bought a couple a months ago the top tips are staring to die but the tree itself is still alive. I was wanting to know if I should cut the dead branches near the top? Also it’s starting to grow branches or leaves on the side of the base and side of the branches is that normal ?

  • @christinalnelson
    @christinalnelson4 ай бұрын

    Yes, to my knowledge that’s normal. I’ve heard that if it grows from the bottom it might be in distress. And if there are dying parts, I’d consider cutting it back and that will encourage new growth when you do that and new shoots will show up! Best of luck and thanks for watching!

    I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. #4 - I absolutely, to the bone, hate built in fridge. #1 - I wonder if this is US thing or not. While I'm no expert on this for sure I've not seen cabinets built up to the ceilings anywhere where I live (EU). Actually, the top of the cabinets are commonly used for drying out stuff (such as mushrooms, herbs, etc..). There's dedicated room for additional storage next to kitchen - pantry.
