Thank you for sharing this idea. I have a custom made pixel picture and there was no frame the size i needed. I went to the store and bought the next biggest size frame. I will have to cut it down both directions just like you did but now that I see what I was thinking in action, I don’t feel so stupid. Thank you very much for sharing this brilliant idea!
For years I worked with my father (a janitor) and he used toothpaste and toothbrush ONLY for stubborn marks and NEVER on a matte painted wall. Even the mildest toothpaste contains some level of abrasives, and, coupled with a hard brush, you are going to damage the paint.
Interesting. I would love to know - what he did use to get the marks off matte painted walls? Especially if there are a lot of them? Toothpaste and toothbrush is the only thing I have found that will actually get the marks off. Thanks for commenting! 😊

No worries! I would personally just use white, but you could try another colour - just test on an inconspicuous area first. But to be safe I would go with white. 😊

Hi again Bel. I did more research online for gable air vents and I found an amazing company in Texas called Ekena Millwork. They make a huge variety of gable air vents in a Hamptons style. And many other great Hamptons styled items. And got lots of great videos on KZread just search for Ekena Millwork and look at their list of great videos especially on gable air vents.

Hi Peter, thanks for watching! When we built our house, the best "Hamptons" looking air vent I could find was from ebay! I bought it and gave it to the builders when they were installing the cladding, as it needs to slot in. It is plastic, but we haven't had any problems with ours, and you can choose either the functional or non-functional version. Make sure you check which size you are buying and that it will be big enough. Anyway here's a link to a square one, it's the same type that we bought. Hello, how did you remove the original plexiglass from the frame? I have a frame that the plexiglass is glued to the frame???
Oh that's a shame! My plexiglass was not glued in. Perhaps you can find something that would help to dissolve the glue? Maybe rubbing alcohol or something similar? Let me know if you find something that works! 😊
Heating it with blow dryer loosened it up. Slowly section by section.

I tried this technique on my matt paint and unfortunately, its made the stain much worse. I now have larger damp looking area where i tried to remove these stains. I really do think with a coloured paint in particular you will have to put up with the small stains or repaint the entire thing.

I found this paint searching how can I restore my furniture which is varnished. Will it work if I don't sand at all ?
I would say if the piece of furniture isn't going to get bumped or used a lot and isn't in a high traffic area, you can probably get away without sanding. If it's something you're going to be using every day, maybe try to do some extra prep work. Would love to hear how your project went! 😊

My own tip to not spend unnecessarily is to wait until the excitement of finding something new that I like and want (but not need) calms down, before buying. This means that instead of giving in to that initial ‘oooooh!’ feeling, I’ll agree to myself to come back to it (in an online shopping basket, or in real life at the shops). Maybe in an hour, a day, a week, a month, but often never. Once that impulse feeling has dissipated I often find that I can look at the item more objectively, and realise things that make it not a good purchase. Just last week I piled an online shopping basket full of Boxing Day sale items, but decided to come back to it later. When I returned to it yesterday I found I no longer actually wanted the items. I had just been caught up in that impulse buy feeling.

We have a textured wall , i don't know how to explain but its very rough ( german apartment). I am not able to clean pencil and color pencil marks. I tried toothpaste before and bakng soda also but it tends to change color a bit in the wall and still looks like a wet spot. If anyone has any tips, please share. I am desperately looking for all possible ways.
Wow, that sounds really difficult! We have a product in Australia called "Gumption" - it would be worth trying if you can find it, or maybe you have something similar in Germany? It's a paste-like cleaning product and it comes in a tub, you scoop some out with a cloth and rub it over the stain, usually works really well. Just make sure you test a small inconspicuous area first. I hope that helps, or that you can find another solution! 😊
