Oh man, I attended this show & when Jorma announced an acoustic set & another full electric set, the place went nuts! And loved seeing his brother Peter (saw this show & the one at the Stone Pony a week earlier). “People who try to leave without buying a t-shirt will be shot.” 😂 😆

This isn't one that I had any part of the recording. I'm going to post the tech info that's written inside the tapes if I can decipher the penmanship. Anothe problem I have is every time I go into these boxes of tapes I fall into a rabbit hole and my A.D.D. kicks in and I accomplish very little.

@@dansnyder1036 As a long time collector and stealth videographer of live concerts, I know exactly what you mean. I’ve been down that rabbit hole many times. Your mind just starts going off in all directions. Part memories, part dreams, part odd thoughts that come to you while going through boxes of tapes. I have hundreds of hours that I’ve recorded over the years. I don’t have the time, the patience, or my equipment set up to do transfers, but maybe some day. I did a bunch of Hot Tuna. Mostly from the Beacon Theater, and a few solo Jorma shows. His wife busted me one night. lol

We live in a shore town between Asbury Park and Seaside N.J. we had our setup ready to go tape Dave Mason @ the Chatterbox (Seaside) went in spoke with Daves road manager to get permission waited around for 2 hours without contact. Meanwhile Kaukarano is @ The Lonestar doing two show late and early. My Buddy says if we leave now we can catch the late. No tickets my buddy says just walk in like you own the place and we'll see what happens. Walk in no problem I've got my 35mm around my neck and Vanessa stops me and says no photos, I lift my camera point at Vanessa and click! Then I take out the batteries and hand them to her. We got a table 10ft away from stage. I had more batteries but am a horrible photographer as far as settings and lighting go so pics are horrible. I did however record the audio. Good Times!

@@dansnyder1036 I’m in Jersey too. I was living in that same area but moved back up North. I still come down there sometimes. We gotta get together and party sometime. I’d love to do a little film festival and show some of the footage I’ve shot over the years, and see yours too. Vanessa busted me at theTabernacle in Mt. Tabor. I still got out with the recording. I gave her a blank tape. I did a lot of Allman Brothers and Govt Mule, as well as Tuna, Phil, Grisman, Gregg Allman Band.

Thanks so much... Jorma used to play small clubs all over Phila in the 80s especially.... Chestnut Caberet had a lot of great acts, rare to find video... Taping was not allowed at most of these shows. I was fortunate enough to meet Jorma and his wife, as my neighbor was a friend whom he visited in the 80s in NE Phila. Great to see Jorma clean and sober for so long now. Always one of the greatest acoustic guitar players, a living legend go see him and Jack!

Wow! My elder brother introduced me to Hot Tuna around 1971. I was such a young kid, then, but HT have been a massive part of my life ever since. I was lucky enough to meet Jorma in person in early 2010. What a wonderfully humble and gracious guy who spent time answering all of my questions with real patience and kindness. He made me feel totally at ease... a truly wonderful man.

I used to go see Southern Cross all the time at the Silver Dollar in Pt Pleasant NJ, and then later as the Mango Brothers at the Liquor Locker in Silverton NJ. This was way back in the 70's/80's. I remember Sonny first joining Southern Cross on stage, his new flannel was a bit big on him lol. Great to see this video thanks for posting

Joe plays with his band The Mangos dropped the brothers. They did a Southern Cross reunion at The Osprey in September of 22 was incredible. Sonny does some studio stuff with his daughter I think her name is Melanie. Oh yeah they (Mangos) play at Riv's the old Silverton Hub and also at the Arrowhead. @@thomasbrown8598

So the guy who I share credit for all these shows we recorded over the years went to a Dixie Dreggs show at the pony and asked the soundman for a patch and he refused. At the end of the show the sound man walked away from the board and someone stole his tape. I wasn't there but I've seen the tape LOL. And that is my boring Betts story.@@nanchanger
