Nashville isn’t the same as Tennessee in general. The first few times I visited Nashville I absolutely loved it but now that I’m actually living in Nashville i no longer feel that way. the traffic, prices, parking, crappy roads and surprisingly unfriendly locals. That said I’m giving it time to adjust.

I live in NY and looking to relocate. Tennessee is definitely on my list. The lifestyle sounds like it’s right up my alley! I still work so I’d be looking for trucking jobs, good medical, and not having my SS taxed.

Why most people like myself move here. The natural beauty, no income tax, friendly locals, warmer weather. What made me love Tennessee is that a majority of the parks are completely free. People mostly don’t bother you as in they don’t seem to give you the look you see all too often from strangers in other states. Generally people will be polite and respectful and a lot of times strike up a nice convo with you without being in your face. I’ve definitely found some major drawbacks too but overall it’s a very solid place to be and can cater to most lifestyles well.

Yea, those houses aren’t $400,000-$500,000 no more. More like $800,000 now. Crazy to know how expensive Tennessee is. I know this was 2021, but it’s kind of unfair to people who want to buy a decent house. Not blaming anything on you two gentleman, just frustrated on how expensive Nashville area is now. Oklahoma City is going to be the new Nashville, just wait.

I have lived in Tennessee for 16 years. I worked in Knoxville for 4 years, lived in Memphis 8 years and mount juliet for 8. I loved Tennessee Red state, guns, downtown fun, lots of music, Bible Belt but never heard one word of pressure or judgement, handled Covid great, wrong medical services with Vanderbilt and UT. Cost of living is low, taxes are low 100% recommendation

I bought an Armalite AR-180 in about 1973 legally, registered and later the State of California wanted it reregistered. So, I didn't take it out in public. Later it was found the state had illegally kept the registrations beyond the lawfully mandated 3 years. Finally, the courts stepped in and forced the state to respect the written laws. I left California and moved to Tennessee, and I love it. I brought my AR's with me.

We have looked at homes in Tennessee but I was worried about the ammo tax, I would be bringing a lot of ammo with me if we move to Tennessee. We have no interest in living near any large city or even a smaller city that has a collage. Privacy is at the top of our list.

Move to Nashville? Locals don't take kindly and will spit in your food and giggle like the deputy in Dukes of Hazard. The Mexican food tastes like BBQ. All the music is country and some western. Bigfoot comes out at night steals your junk mail. The whiskey is watered down with gasoline. Dancing is illegal like in Footloose. Gang members wear roller skates so you don't see em coming. There's no street signs so you have no idea where you are. Don't move to Nashville whatever you do.

Great video. I have thought about moving to Tennessee but I too live in North Idaho. We've been here for 23 years and it has spoiled us greatly. But the winters can be long, and the lack of sun can really effect you too. But the summers are absolutely incredible but the economy has priced out most people. Home prices have increased 4 times in the last three to four years. I love the open carry in Tennessee. I love the southern hospitality. I love church on Sundays. But the bugs, the heat and humity and allergies could kill if most of us that are not used to it. The home prices are still low compared to idaho. Thank you for the great info

Don't lay down on the grass!! Chiggers are not a joke. Grew up in TN (5 years in Lawrenceburg, left Nashville in 87 to move to Los Angeles). I have very bad allergies/asthma in TN and really can't move back...I like breathing. I've heard people say Nashville is the allergy capital of the US. You need a car to live in Nashville suburbs. Grocery store, malls, etc can be miles away.

Thanks so much for your honesty! I have been looking for someone to tell me like it is. Tennessee sounds beautiful and has lots of positives, but I don't think it is for me. I'm not religious and Im a bit more on the left of center politically. I wondered if a bigger city like Nashville would be more open to idealogical diversity (like me) but maybe not. Coming to visit next month. We shall see. Thanks again for your video! I appreciate your transparency.

There is nothing bad about owning a GUN, what the hell is wrong with you. I and my late husband owned a lot of guns, and they included AR-15, STG-58 he even built 2 50cals M1 Grande M1 Carbine, So owning guns is nothing different the TEXAS or WYOMING so don't act like TN is the only place that has GUNS. I have been shooting for over 53 years.

I won’t go into all the reasons, but I’d NEVER move back to TN. Born, grew up, & lived the first 33 years of my life in Nashville. Left for a job in the mountain west in 2003. Everything you said is correct. I couldn’t believe how much healthier I was after moving to a drier climate.
