  replace the redstone with a solid block (stone, dirt, wood etc), and swap the smooth stone at the back for noteblocks for better rates and less lag

  is your middle hoppper facing into your chest? and the side hoppers facing into eachother?

  Make sure you use mud blocks to plant the sugar canes and check if all the hoppers are correctly connected and leading to the chest. Hope it helps 🙂

  This is the Xiumavoid design from several years ago. I've been building a very similar design since at least 1.13, possibly 1.12 - but my current design incorporated a trick from Illmango's "cactus science" videos to improve the throughput a small bit. I use smooth stone SLABS for the floors above the first floor, though any slab will work equally. I prefer green glass to clear, but I've also used other items like cobble for the early starter stage. Cactus AVERAGES about 1 "grow" every 17 minutes - waiting 5 minutes is NOTHING on a cactus farm. Do NOT need a light source. I've build these completely underground and unlit a few times and they still work the same.

  Hey, I just saw your comment now.. sorry. Have you added the torches as I showed? And cactus can take a while to grow, so you have to be patient

  might want to mention the necessity of blocking the explosion damage with a shield, And depending on the damage level you might need unbreaking on the shield. You might also want to mention the practical uses for this. Like the fact that you can use this to get an elytra boost and go a very long distance without needing to use fireworks

  I reckon you could make a contraption that also cooks the meat after it gets put through the hopper, but youd have to make it sort the leather out so it doesnt clog the furnace. Cool video though. Ill be sure to use it on my realm

  guys this does NOT work in bedrock. i tried it and the water just went through the trapdoor which was pretty annoying considering the fact i couldnt find any that ACTUALLY work in bedrock. so to any1 whose in bedrock and wants to get a string farm just know you’ll prob never have one since you need a trapdoor with water in it (n like i said with my situation the water goes through the trapdoor) and that OBVIOUSLY doesnt work with bedrock. but anyways have a lovely day/night ppl!!👋🏽💗
