    Hello! Very nice presentation! Thanks. I have a problem, 2 external harddrives, Would like to copy from A to B I do not find out what to call them. They are on E: and H: Tried this robocopy "E:\ExF-10-4TB" "H:\MTV-40-4TB" /E /MT /R:5 /W:15 /NS /NC /NFL /NDL /NP Error 2024/02/29 20:07:11 ERROR 2 (0x00000002) Accessing Source Directory E:\ExF-10-4TB\ The system cannot find the file specified. ??? Would be nice to get some help! Br Hans S

    I would 2 File Explorer windows with first window focused on the E drive and the second window focused on the H drive. Then I would select all the contents on the E drive and press Ctrl-C and then select the H drive window and press Ctrl-V and let the File Explorer handle the job. I wouldn't use robocopy. If you do wish to use robocopy, I would expect the command to look like this: robocopy E:\ H:\ /E /MT /R:5 /W:15 /NS /NC /NFL /NDL /NP

    Very helpful. How do I use these /MIR files to restore my Documents or My Pictures ?

  • @oswyguy9317
    @oswyguy93178 ай бұрын

    The /MIR files are exact duplicates of the files and folders you backed up. For instance, if you used robocopy to back up your documents folder, all you have to do is copy and paste the backup documents into your original documents folder.

    Thanks . I am trying to copy all user files from an old computer to a new computer. Is the robocopy /MIR command the best tool to use ? The old PC Documents will be copied to a NVME/USB3 device that will then be used to transfer to a New PC. Any suggestions ? @@oswyguy9317

    Very old video so a response is doubtful but anyway. If you were tasked with saving everything on a users system using this process, could you enter the home directory (or for the case of a Windows user, the user directory) highlight the user you want (in this case Lou) and then press C and specify a location? Would that copy his entire user directory as asked? Thank you!
