Wow, I know this is an old upload, but guess what? I was at the '83 Weipa Enduro. I grew up in Weipa, from '79 until '86 and there some of the best parts of my life. Little known fact; when they played 'stand by your man' there was a clip of that in the news and on tape, if you look in the back ground you will see a heap of kids sliding down the bauxite slope right beside the beer garden. I was the third kid down on an empty opened up carton of XXXX. I was in my best clothes that my mum and dad got me and subsequently dressed me up in. When I ran back to them I was covered in red dirt head to toe. They got fair up me, and I still remember it to this day. Great memories that, thanks to you, I can actually watch again. I remember one of my dads mate's kids (who was a great friend of mine), Cameron Martin was his name, racing that day. I remember them going through the swampy part and mates helping mates out on the track. Seriously thanks for the upload my friend. Cheers and have a good one mate.

Bike 141 at 0:57 : A '83 Yamaha IT250K. I believe I bought that very bike from Centre Suzuki in 1989 - They told me it had raced in the '83 race, and viola! here in the video, we see that 250K with the very same Boyeson Racing reeds sticker on the front fender. So that's likely the very same machine. I kept that bike the whole time I lived in Alice, and brought it with me back the USA because it was one hell of a fun machine. Bulletproof.

Easter 2022 and I still long for the Bathurst Easter races, as an ageing motorcycle enthusiast looking back at a golden age of racing at the mountain, it was an annual pilgrimage for me and like-minded friends camping and being totally saturated in the experience. Philip Is is a great weekend adventure but nothing like Bathurst. Bathurst was Woodstock for the motorcycle enthusiast, love it, love it, love it..... If only .!!!

We got our tent in one frame...Motorcyclists certainly paid a price for the few who stirred up the cops.... for years!
