Houseful of Handmade is a woodworking and DIY website where I share everything I have learned as I have remodeled 2 homes, including 3 kitchens where I built all my own cabinets. Tutorials include large and small builds, remodeling, and more!
My goal is to inspire you to tackle your own DIY and woodworking projects. And I always try to give you all the information you need to do it (I'll try not to talk too much, but I can't guarantee it)!
Collab request should be sent to [email protected].

Parabéns, que trabalho perfeito.!
EXCELLENT tutorial, especially for those of us just learning the basics of woodworking. Just what I needed. Thanks!
Cool
Biscuits don’t add strength. Dominos don’t add strength. They both help with alignment.
as template tool you can use plastic (window wide blind- louvre )like material cardboard may cause wrong measurement...
You are truly amazing and talented
Awesome job Kati!
Thanks for this!!!
How did you paint? Is this pine
Very nice project. And well explained.
I really like your delivery in your video. You are direct and to the point. And you explain things well. I have been making furniture for the last 8 years and love how it makes having nice, well made furniture affordable for me. Just one thing, please wear a dust mask. Seeing that cloud of dust that you were breathing in made me cringe! I bought a bunch of N95 masks on Amazon and wear them every time I am making dust. They do the trick, protect my health and are more comfortable than anything else I've tried. Plus, when one gets too dirty I just throw it away and get out another one! I would hate for you to hurt your body while doing something that is so much fun and enjoyable. Otherwise you are doing great! Keep up the good work!
I did this on mine (same butcher block, and products used), but the finish came out a little bit blotchy... any recommendations ?
I want to use waterlox on a counter top with an undermount sink. I love the colors of the true tone sealer as first layer but what finish do you recommend over this for the best protection against water, stains from coffee or wine? Not sure if I should use a few layers the waterlox urethane as finish, or this true tone tung oil finish... Also does the true tone tung oil finish require reoccurring refinishing since it is a penetrating finish if so how often will it need to be reapplied (how does this compare to urethane finish)?
No reinforcement ? Hope it doesn’t crack.
I love your design but, is there any way to add a pull out shelf on top of open area? I have COPD and bending over is difficult for me.
You think that's DIY and easy - Does the company rep with the red shirt and the guy with the mask come with the bags of cement?
I have never heard anyone say that their wood counter tops have "looked good for years" without constantly having to worry about them staining, separating, warping and getting water damaged except for ones that are epoxy coated. I have see those in bars undamaged after years.
Three years after you published this video the K4 is still readily available on Amazon.
Impressive.
Looks great and outstanding work 👍👌
Thank you! It was a fun build too ❤️
This is awesome! I can't wait to go for it! ❤
Pokohole ?
Thank you for this vid! Awesome woodworking, especially cutting all those notches out all at once.
Just saw the video and looks great, but you didn't use anything like mesh or wire to void the cracks for that size of the counter. Wondering that.
THANK YOU!!!!
very well done you! Amazing job
I’ve never seen a good video on how to lay out and set the drawer in and get the drawer Slides at the right level everybody runs through it so fast
$20,000 of woodworking equipment not included In other news - pedestals made specifically for your washer are about 200 dollars, and they install them.
Whats the material😊

Based on the angle you used for the ladder do you find the smaller boxes stay shaded or in full sun?
Maybe I missed it, but did you use a dye at all?
Why no tarp under all the mixing area !!!
Interesting but I would prefer the old-school lawnchair version would be a lot more comfortable, who wants to sit on a hard wooden bench?
great job!
I wish you would of showed us how you routered the front drawer panel, 2 inches in on both sides
I'm so proud of you for completing a task that looks outstanding without any "fake help," Lol great job.
Nice build and design, good work. 👍
"I did this" "I did that"... why not acknowledge the person helping you?
How has the finish held up long term? I'm doing butcher block counters and I'm close to being ready for finish, but I'm looking for a solid solution. Your counter looks great!
What is your annual maintenance?
Whoa cool!❤❤❤
You got skills girl.
awe thanks!
Underrated channel
Thank you! I am glad you like it ❤️
This is great. Wish I knew about this video when I was ordering. House paint is white with black finishes. I went with the ash grey as I didn't want my floors to come out with a red or orange finish. After seeing this I think it will match well.
Walnut was a perfect choice, nice build. 👍
Thanks 👍
So i built this but raised it to a total of 30 inches high. The platform is pretty sturdy but had a little rock to it. I wasn't sure if you had any idea on extra support to keep it from rocking.
Securing it to the wall could help if it is open on one or both sides.
You're like my partner; "storage". 😂
Where can I find the measurements for a king?
I have plans for all sizes here housefulofhandmade.com/diy-platform-bed-frame/
Please google search saw dust and lung disease. And then go out and buy yourself a respirator and some filters. 3M makes a reasonably priced mask (Part # 6503QL) and replaceable filters (Part # 2091, P100 filters)
