Hire a Boat one day ? Do you think you might take Caio Bella out herself ? Most of the cut is navigable by widebeams and you would enjoy the comfort of your own home while seeing new places I am sure .
Lovely podcast. It’s called the Bow Mr B! 😂. Im over the moon that the lady from the last podcast has managed to get a narrowboat. I wish her all the best
Just as an FYI - Lockgate, who manufacture the Reflex Diesel Stove range, also do a conversion kit for a Morso Squirrel, keeping the look of a traditional multi fuel stove but without the usual drawbacks (coal dust/ash/constant cleaning etc) Our boat had the conversion done, but previous owner reverted to the traditional multifuel version which we still use.
@MakingNewMemories yes, our boat was the same. We went o e with ter trying to keep it warm via the diesel conversation but it simply couldn't keep a widebeam warm. That's why the stove was converted back and for a little bit of dust the payback is simply amazing! Proper stove all day for us. Thanks for the informative post. Mrs B xxx
I have a question for Kenneth...... he hasn't posted for awhile on his channel.... please can you tell him, that he is getting slack with hi utube.... My Chloe our golden labrador misses watching his channel...... So Kenneth get working again.... we miss your channel.

Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well and enjoy the monthly question and answer session. This one was tough, you will see why as we get into the session. Take care of one another, life is short and precious. Mrs B xx
Hi folks , loved your video and it’s really helpful. We’re in the sorting and chucking out stage so we can live on a boat. We’re currently in favour of Sawley marina but after watching your video I think we need to check out Mercia it looks really nice. Is Mercia fed by a canal or river? Thanks so much 😊
@@dawnharrold4474 Hi guys, many thanks for taking the time to comment, really is appreciated. The chucking out time was our favourite time to be honest, we found it so therapeutic! Mercia is fed via the Trent & Mersey Canal and will not flood (always nice to know about a Marina and maybe worth considering when you do pick) and I would be more than happy to show you guys around if you are in the area, just DM me over on Instagram and I can show you around this amazing marina. Take care and good luck, exciting times! Wendy xx

Hi I live not too far from Lymm, there's a lot of money in Lymm, we usually walk the dog around Lymm Dam, my husband and son used to fish there, but you have to pay a fee for the day, but it's a really pretty little town, always enjoy seeing where you two get to, xx

Thanks Guys, hope you are both doing okay. Wendy xx
hello, thank you for the vlog, interesting questions, this is the first time i have watched you both , as i saw you on Heidi's vlog, so i thought i would have a watch. we are thinking of buying and so many questions about buying a boat, that its a bit of a minefield.! would always appreciate some advice about surveys and deposits, and how it all works. we live in the west country, so always difficult to get up and view boats, they seem to go quickly! i like the idea of being in a marina, but is it expensive? thanks again.
Hi Katie, thank you so much for taking the time to comment, really appreciated. You are absolutely correct in that it can be somewhat of a minefield buying a boat. Getting a survey is in our opinion an absolute must, best £1000 or so you will spend. If you decide to go for a full survey (so not just the hull) expect to pay a little more. A good boat surveyor is always in demand so please be aware it can take a few weeks to get this done, plus the boat will need to be lifted out of the water. Different of course if you are looking at a new boat which will be covered with a twelve month comprehensive warranty. The good boats are still moving quickly, important to introduce yourself to the brokerages out there, New & Used are a great starting point, we purchased our narrow boat (new) from them, sold it through them to get our current wide beam and would highly recommend them. They have a few offices as well as a large range of boats. I am sure you are also aware of Apollo Duck, great on-line brokerage. Generally deposits are around 10% of agreed asking price and are of course dependent upon survey outcome. Mooring fees are generally the same from marina to marina (there will of course be some marinas slightly cheaper and some slightly more) and are charged on the length of the boat and if a wide beam charged at double (because the boat is taking the space of two). Most marina’s will gave their mooring tariff on their website, if you take a look at own marina (Mercia) you will see it under the mooring tab. To give you an idea we currently pay £817 per month, this includes water. Always a good idea to go and take a good look around the marina’s as well. The marina manager’s out there would be delighted to allow you to look around, Mercia is a secure gated marina but the office team are great and always provide a fob to allow you to go and walk around. It truly is a wonderful way of life, we love it and have not regretted anything. Don’t be put off by the minefield of boating terms and what’s what, we have never come across a boater who hasn’t pointed us in the right direction. Please do mail Darren if you need anything or if you are ever up and around Mercia let us know, we’d be delighted to come show you around and have a good natter. Take care and good luck, exciting times ahead hopefully. Wendy. Xx
@LoveLifeTriumph oh my goodness, thank you so much for all the wonderful information . That's fantastic. I am going to write it all down now. .so kind of you both .x

Why have you got a boat? Why don't you ever go anywhere in it? Why don't you just buy a bungalow and film that? I'm confused.
Simple really! Lifestyle and taking a 70ft widebeqm out on the UK canals would be rather tricky! Folk do just like to live on the water! I'd say over 75% of the folk who live at Mercia Marina are the same! Hope that's okay with you 😮😮
Ps we finally realised that bungalows are boring! 😮
