  I’m an Orthodox Catechumen in a carpatho-Rusyn church in Florida. My family name is Fousek. I’ve been told that my name was Bohemian, Czech, and everything in between. I’m curious what it really is. More wild is that all of these miles away, generations passed, and I wind up in the carpatho-Rusyn Orthodox Church…that will be wild.   The Moors never came up in the mountains of Northwest Spain. That was a sanctuary for visigothic nobles and their celt-iberian wives especially in the Picos De Europa in east Asturias founded by Pelayo. The Moors left that area alone because the terrain is treacherous and weather colder and the Moors said they did not have the ability to fly to get up there. That's why there is a famous saying, "Asturias is Spain. The rest is just reconquered territory." That's why we have holy titles as surnames starting with Santo, Santi or Santa because our ancestors were Christian Knights who were probably Visigothic and not only got a title as a surname but a little piece of land with the same title that sounds more Latinized. We had more common names associated with Spanish like names ending in "ez" but we underwent a name change during the Reconquest because of someone in our line being titled or venerated with a holy name and throwing the Moors out of Iberia, You really don't believe European Christian Visigothic Knights want anything to do with non-European Muslims? They have nothing in common and the Moors were evil. That's why the Christian nobles were up in the isolated, cold mountains were life is sooo hard and the landscape so rugged and very hard to grow food, not the pleasant sunny Mediterrenean, to get away from them and have nothing to do with them, be left alone and throw the Muslims out of the Iberia.

  We now know that it was purely accidental. My grandpaents were married in the church in about 1921 and grandfather Andrew was one of the first to help grow the congregation The original blueprint plans have been posted for all to see in the newer reception hall. It was NOT a reconstruction of an earlier church brought here. Dr. Z (Lou)

  This building was constructed by the Tartarians hundreds of years ago maybe even longer. It was found and repurposed in 1911-1912. People in 1912 could never construct something of this glory in one year let alone in 50 years. It was recently atacked by arson in an attemp to cover up the true history of the USA. They burn these marvelous buildings all the time it is sickening.
