    I always thought that carp are sacred. I didn't know that people actually kill them. I heard you say that you are eating them so at least there's that. If you want to build a following for your carp fishing you'll find that you get more followers if you treat them very special. You can get a carp mat and it will help you gently remove hooks to release the fish. I prefer to see carp fishermen with coated nets because they do less harm to the fish. People who like to watch carp fishing typically enjoy the release of unharmed carp. If you watch a few other carp fishermen videos you can get an impression of how they are handled by the people who get the enormous followings. I would love to see more carp fishermen putting out content but I could do without the violence.

    We understand your perspective and while I will make it clear that we do not waste food this channel, following your suggestion, we will be doing more carp fishing videos. I can assure you that all the fish we release we try our best to ensure their safety during their time out of water (including carp), and even when we keep fish, we try to knock them out or dispatch them as fast as possible to minimize the pain. Again thank you for your opinion and suggestions.

    @@fishslayerfreshwater Great fishing! Those fish you caught were huge! It's been a dream of mine for over 30 years to catch a carp. I catch a lot of other stuff trying to catch them which of course messes up my bait but I've never caught an actual carp.

  • @fishslayerfreshwater

    As of now, I couldn’t find any stocking for trout here on the ODFW website, so either they are not stocking it this year or they are updating it later. Sometimes the stocking schedule isn’t always perfect.

  • @SunfishKing
    @SunfishKing5 ай бұрын

    Goldfish eat flakes thats fine but dont feed right after stocking they wont eat and it will all be wasted. Give it a day or so. Any time you feed them just do little amounts and only give them what you can watch them eat, no leftovers in the water.

  • @fishslayerfreshwater
    @fishslayerfreshwater5 ай бұрын

    Turned out afterwards the pond has enough stuff on the bottom for them. I tried feeding them even months after and they still wouldn’t eat. I caught one out afterwards and he was super chunky even though I didn’t feed them for months.

    Is it easy to catch bass in progress lake?

  • @fishslayerfreshwater
    @fishslayerfreshwater10 ай бұрын

    Relatively yes. Progress is definitely less pressured and definitely easier to catch bass compared to most public lakes around Portland. However, when looking at lakes in some more rural areas as well as private lakes (with restricted public access), it is probably much more difficult.

    Nice video! Other than early morning, any recommended time of day to fish at George Rogers park?

  • @fishslayerfreshwater
    @fishslayerfreshwater11 ай бұрын

    It really depends. Of course early morning and late evening is always the best bet (and least amount of people). The majority of the fish in the creek flow in and out depending on the tides. Typically high tides bring in more fish but when the tide is low, sight fishing is fun too. A lot of fish like trout and salmon run seasonally. You can look up the tide charts and salmon count of Willamette River on Google.
