  REM did cool versions of classics... Draggin' the Line (Tommy James and the Shondells), Iam Superman (originally done by The Clique), among a few others but these two, in my opinion, are the best

  Without Michael stipe, the rest of the band was in a one-time group with Warren Zevon called the Hindu Love Gods that did a bunch of Blues covers, and a rousing rendition of Prince's Raspberry Beret. That Prince cover has to be heard to be believed.

  I'm going to burn a version of Murmur replacing the released version of the song with this one. I listened to the album that way and I just can't believe it- Murmur is by far and away the best R.E.M. album when you do it. I've always had a problem with the album version of R.F.E. and when I make the substitution the problem is just gone and it is perfection!
