  Borla, best in the world, not only because they sound the best, but they did this for me, in 96 I put a Borla on my 93, fast forward 26 years or so, I road race the car all the time since new, 250 thousand miles mostly on racetracks, I noticed a couple cracks on the muffler, I was gonna just weld them, but I remembered my receipt in the box said something about a million mile guarantee, so I called them, they said can you send a picture of the receipt and the muffler, so I did, they sent me an entirely new exhaust system covered the shipping and all, what a company, I've bought two more systems from them since.

  I know you probably have it set for ground clearance and shitty roads but drop that thing an inch and it’ll be MEAN. Sounds kickass tho

  Lt1 is the best sbc ever built. Factory aluminum heads. Factory reverse cooling system. 10.5:1 compresion stock. Great working fuel injection system. More power than the beloved 5.3. The opti spark is what sucks but they have ways around that.

  @@GearStreet it makes more power than gm advertised. Check out Richard holdners dyno video of the LT1. 360 horsepower stock. I would hope gm would make the more modern 5.3's have more horsepower than the old sbc lt1. Honestly its 2 separate engines so there isnt much comparison but the lt1 had some major upgrades compared to all other sbc's. I forgot to mention all lt1's were factory roller cams as well.

  I still have mine. Moddded obviously. Awesome to see the old lt1 instead lg everythijg being ls. I like the ls platform but inwanted to keep mine lt1 equipped.

  i love those LT1's had one in my s10 back in 1998 and the thing was a beast,it had the original 5 speed manual then i put some 355 gears in the rear and i guess it was a match made in heaven because i smoked so many people in that truck damn,no tune either back then you just drove and it tuned itself,it had stock cam thats why,but nobody even talked about tuning back then.good times haha

  You're right, you can do quite a bit, but once you put a different cam profile in, you will need a tune, even though they did self tune a little bit.

  Had the same car. Bought it new in 94, when i was 25. Mine was a black 6 speed. Loved that car. It was fast for the time, and could easily pin the speedo off 155 mph, but with the super tall 6th gear, on the highway, you could get about 28 mpg with it as well.

  @@Ballen1182 Go for an LS. The LT1 engine is a good engine, but the opti spark is the weak point. It is to susceptible to getting wet, leading to failure. Had to replace the opti on my 94 z28 at around 70k, if i remember correctly. Then again at 144k. Car ran strong though. In 1994, you weren't getting beat by anything other than a viper, or vette, american made. (stock)

  The LS1 really overshadowed the LT1. Its really a solid engine once you iron out a few kinks. I still think they sound better than LS fbodies too.

  LT1 SOUNDS WAY BETTER THEN LS1.. as far as speed goes that's just all about how much money u wanna spend. Stock vs stock lt1 vs ls1 are the same until about idk 80mph then ls1 shows that its more powerful in stock form. Real life scenarios ls1 and lt1 are about the same 0-60

  @@lasvegaslife5770you’ll always be about 50hp down mod for mod whatever you do to both. Better to just put an LS1 in it to start with.

  I mean it's OG small block Chevy architecture. LT can't hold a candle to the LS head flow same as the LS can't to the new LT. Awesome sounding motor.

  Nice car. I am obviously older than you, I had one of these new. And I can tell you an LT1 with Borla 14464 and Enkei WIN wheels was the hottest thing in the early 90s. I was one luck mofo.

  Me too, I ordered my 93 three months before they went into production, one of the first Z28's to roll off the line, some automatics came out first they didn't have the 6 speeds ready, the Indy pace cars came with the old 5 speed.
