@@okanui You wouldn't have said that in 16th century Constantinople. After WW1 the Republic of Turkey stood up for itself, fought and won Wars of Independence, established it's own borders and ejected foreign powers. Pres. Atatürk was wisely able to achieve this without boast or brag. He just got on and built modern secular Turkey.

The full length national anthem is five verses. Only the first verse is sung. The Maori verse always precedes the English verse. Like this: E Ihowā Atua, O ngā iwi mātou rā Āta whakarangona; Me aroha noa Kia hua ko te pai; Kia tau tō atawhai; Manaakitia mai Aotearoa God of Nations at Thy feet, In the bonds of love we meet, Hear our voices, we entreat, God defend our free land. Guard Pacific's triple star From the shafts of strife and war, Make her praises heard afar, God defend New Zealand.

The ANZAC service is held in Gallipoli,Turkey, every year and commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". The Gallipoli campaign, also known as the Dardanelles campaign, the Battle of Gallipoli or the Battle of Çanakkale (Turkish: Çanakkale Savaşı), was a military campaign in the First World War that took place on the Gallipoli peninsula (Gelibolu in modern Turkey), from 17 February 1915 to 9 January 1916 In Turkey the name "ANZAC Cove" was officially recognised by the Turkish government on Anzac Day in 1985. In 1934, Kemal Atatürk delivered the following words to the first Australians, New Zealanders and British to visit the Gallipoli battlefields. This was later inscribed on a monolith at Ari Burnu Cemetery (ANZAC Beach) which was unveiled in 1985. The words also appear on the Kemal Atatürk Memorial, Canberra, and the Atatürk Memorial in Wellington: Those heroes that shed their blood And lost their lives. You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side Here in this country of ours. You, the mothers, Who sent their sons from far away countries Wipe away your tears, Your sons are now lying in our bosom And are in peace After having lost their lives on this land they have Become our sons as well. In short we have been friendly nations since 1916. They are flying the flag out of respect for all those that fought and the land they stand upon.

She has led this country brilliantly against COVID. The once in a generation election victory on 17 October last year was not for no reason. It was because the Government bottled COVID19. It was also because the opposition National Party were truly pathetic.

@@robertglennienz Yes, Ardern did win the election based her Covid 19 response. However, NZ finally woke up to her and found out that her authoritarian agenda was basically illegal and her Covid lockdowns and restrictions were both cruel and unnecessary. Out the door she went because she didn't want to be the PM of a losing party at the 2024 election.
