There are so many vehicles available in the system, over production & with a low demand prices should come down, but pricing is too high. The public are unsure which type of vehicle to buy, remember the Labour govt. telling us to buy diesel vehicles. The feeling is to buy electric cars, which are so expensive, with short journey times & having to stop to charge up. The low demand has a preference for foreign vehicles, some may be built in the U.K. but the profits go out of the U.K. Politicians have no idea as to proper answers, they just come up with glib answers, as you can here from this M. P.

How dare you make out that you care Mr Anderson. Scottish Power is shocking! The amount of people currently off supply inc families with young children with your company is disgusting! To stand there asking the government for money! I don't know how you sleep! I have personally been through a terrible experience with your company and cannot wait to leave! Scottish power changed my smart meter over to prepayment with no warning! It's not accepted 3 recent top ups, I have a 2 year old baby & an autistic 9 year old son. Work hard & have always paid my bills. Within the next few hours we're completely off supply and I don't owe any money. At present you owe me money! You're aware that us as customers call and get hung up on daily! It's not new news to your ears. Just look at trust pilot to see how disgraceful you are! Every hour another review appears. And you stand there acting like you care! Recently your head quarters was painted red! This was a demonstration for awareness of the blood on the hands of you and your disgraceful company. It wasn't in the media was it but I'm sure you are aware of that too! To those wanting to see this protest I'll place a link in a further comment. Worst rated customer service in the UK several years in a row for any utility company. Keith Anderson needs to go. Scottish Power is a complete joke, it needs to be split up - instead the OfGem keep on giving them more accounts and funding.

The government have set themselves an impossible target and the only way the government can achieve this target is by depriving the masses the everyday things we take for granted. Why do you think we have an energy crisis? It's all manufactured so the average family will be around £1200 per annum worse off and in doing so lowers all our carbon footprints. Those on very low incomes will have to choose between heating their homes or feeding their family. For those on a little more money, it means sacrificing one holiday per annum, there you go, job done! But I'm just a conspiracy theorist and our lovely leaders would never dream of doing such a thing. I remember having this conversation at the height of the financial crash when austerity measures were introduced and home ownership become out of reach even for a two wage couple. Bit by bit they are taking everything from us, cars will be next. I was laughed at and called an idiot, yet here we are 13 years later responding to a government minister who wants to make car ownership a thing of the past.
All I have seen throughout my life is the condemnation of communism by our western government's. Yet bit by bit these same government's are quite happy to pick and choose certain sections of communism (the very thing they condemn) to fulfill certain agendas.
We will own nothing in the future and we will be so happy just going to work to pay our taxes so our Overlords can enjoy the things that we plebs will be banned from owning. Like taking a foreign holiday or home ownership (anyone old enough to remember the latter) for example. When you have nothing left worth living for, you may as well just die trying....
If certain proposals to get rid of all personal transport happen there won't be any electric cars either. It would be interesting to know how the government plan to plug the lost revenue gap on road fund licence, tax on fuel, vat on parts etc.

I would just like to clarify the ownership of the brands referred to, Jaguar Land Rover is owned by TATA, Mini and Rolls Royce are both owned by BMW and Vauxhall is now owned by PSA after acquiring the brand from GM Europe.
