I know this video is 2 years old, but on the topic of variable damage: you might want to check out Advanced Tiny Dungeon if you haven't already! It's a slightly more complex version of Tiny Dungeon that introduces armor class, variable damage, and other expanded mechanics to the Tiny Dungeon setting. I think if I run any of the other Tiny D6 modules (Wasteland, Frontiers, etc.) I will convert/incorporate most of those changes, including armor class and variable damage. Great review, appreciate hearing about the Wastelands game you were running.

My journey on the post apocalyptic scene has been long. While trying over a dozen systems, I have settled on Tiny Wastelands and Tiny Living Dead. It’s a fantastic template to start with and adding “new content” to is easy because the rules and mechanics are straightforward and don’t require calculus. State of Decay 2 has been a huge inspiration as well for my apocalyptic campaigns. I eventually settled on 15mm scale miniatures, it lends itself well when someone accidentally alerts the zombie hordes and you need to quickly throw down some distractions and double back around the office buildings, maybe leaving a couple improvised explosives behind as a “prize” for the incoming ghouls. Also, you can turn off all the lights and use a few candles and let your players navigate City ruins or abandoned lab ruins with a couple tea lights where their vision of threats is limited to what the dollar store light can illuminate. Nothing worse than following a “bumping” sound only to realize it’s just one of two dozen sprinters hibernating near their nesting site. Good video. Great review. Please do more.

Fellas, I dig this! Great show!! I have watched a number of vids talking about the One D&D playtest stuff, but you guys brought up some great points I hadn't heard anyone else talk about. As a forever DM/GM, my biggest issue is the removal of crits for everyone except basic weapon and unarmed attacks for PCs. I still run 5e, and taking away my crits for monsters makes running a game less fun. Crawford justified it in their release video saying that they felt it was okay to delete them because monsters have recharge powers, but not all monsters have these powers, and sometimes you don't make that recharge roll at all. Given how I have noticed PCs are more powerful than ever in 5e vs. older versions, monsters as written don't tend to last more than 2-3 rounds in my experience, so it seems monsters most likely won't get the chance to recharge. Kinda lame, imo. Please do make more episodes, guys, this was great!

@@Rasputinttrpg Yo, fellas, this is your homie Jeronimo, btw. Again, gotta say I dig the show!!! You guys have great chemistry and the conversation flowed well that made it easy for me to watch and listen to, but that makes sense ya'll having been friends for years, it seems. I have some questions for you fellow Gamemasters. - You guys mentioned starting a Dark Sun campaign, and how Redbeard didn't want to run it in 5e. Turns out the Nerd Immersion channel did a video talking about how he might have found a hint from a Background on D&D Beyond, I think, and that he speculates they might actually be working on 5e (ooops...well, a OneD&D now) release for Dark Sun. What system would you guys run it in? Wasn't it originally a 2nd Ed. setting? Oh, and why would you rather not run it in 5e? I am curious if your reasons are similar to my own. Next question - Do you start new games in a tavern? If not, then how do you start? I tend not to start in a tavern and instead on the first session use a Danger Room type scenario to basically give the Players a chance to go through some easy rapid combats to get a feel for the rules. I do it with a 2 room repeating puzzle type dungeon. By the end of the session the PCs will have escaped to start the campaign, typically on a road, leading into the goal. I feel hitting the ground running this way makes for a more exciting start. At least that's for D&D. The current Shadowrun game I run I actually did start the Players meeting in a bar that was closed during the day to meet a Mr. Johnson in the owner's office for a job. I mostly did it to give them a feel for the world and taverns/bars are a good place for that, open or closed. How do you guys like to start?

It it quite the slog to get through all 34 pages, a lot of Video Games and visual Novels, and even some music, magazines, programming guides, and other bits and bobs. But hidden in there are at least 30 + role-playing games of various qualities and sizes. From one-page games to solo journaling games to full-on 100+ page games like Trokia, there is enough TTRPG to keep you busy for over a year. I am going to try one of the solo journaling games and give my thoughts on it and iv downloaded a few of the video games and most of the RPG's so no matter your politics this bundle is worth the $10.00 just for the STUFF
