    This video feels heaven sent, the choices are excellent and really showcase how much knitting can do. That LePull skirt especially is something I wouldn't have imagined could be knit and I want to make it so bad now

    Oh, Vienna blouse! I knitted it last year until I got one long sleeve done only to find that is was so, so wide on me. Had to unravel it and redo it and it is a silk-mohair held double. Completed only one sleeve and continued with the peplum. After over 400 stiches and purling, I just stopped and one year later, is still on hold. Revisiting old wips these weeks. It might get done by the end of this year. So curious about your short sleeve version.

    Hi, I'm wondering if for your peplum top you might want to join in the round and make sure you can get it on before starting the peplum part. Then if so you're gonna be good to go. I love that idea especially for doing that much knitting. Much easier for in the round lol I'm like you, I change the way I knit depending on what is going on.

    Hello Paige! I am currently knitting the Square Neck Cami as well and I agree the pattern isn't the clearest on the decrease part... What I did myself is: I placed a marker after the first stitch of the 3 knit stitches that are right underneath the armpit and I decreased the 2 stitches before the marker, slip marker, knit 1 and decrease again. That way, the 3 stitches band on the side is consistent throughout the body. Hope that helps! You can probably find more on ravelry 😊 I hope you will enjoy Halifax, it is a very nice place!

    Regarding your Vienna blouse, could you follow the pattern re the sleeves to get to shaping on the top and not do any decreases to your preferred length?

    Hey Paige! I've knit the Square Neck camisole, and I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you've misinterpreted the instructions for the decreases! Not your fault though, that is one of the least clear parts of the pattern imho... So the way you're supposed to do it is the same way you did the armhole increases but in reverse, i.e. to have a 3 stitch column in between the decreases that you never touch. Like a little raglan seam if you will 🙂 Hope this helps. You can see what I mean if you zoom in on the sample photo on Ravelry where you can see her side/armpit! Loved this episode btw, and the colour of the Mixed Rib cami is just stunning on you!!

    so many of your plans are on my endless queue as well! I always buy yarn for an intended project and if I don’t cast on right away, the plans usually change 😅 doesn’t help deciding what to cast on next! I am currently thinking about potentially abandoning summer knits all together and go full force into my fall and winter plans already

    I’m reknitting the twist loop tank because somehow I switched the front and the back, and ran out of yarn… it’s strange but I’ve had to reknit the last 4 sweaters I’ve been working on for various reasons, but I’m learning a few things which is good. I like your ideas here! Also, it’s pa-pie-russ… papyrus😊

    I knit both the Twist Loop Top and Barbroe Blouse in KFO Merino this year. They are both terrific patterns (no guesswork) and turned out spectacularly well. Both were really enjoyable knits, too. I can’t recommend them enough. By the time you’ve knit a few repeats of the Barbroe pattern, you pretty much have it memorised. The twist loop top, with only occasional cables in one place flies off the needles. Thank you, too, for all the great inspiration.

    I just wound the yarn for the flagship vest, I also bought the kit when I was there last September. I have also never steeked (except for a mug hug) very excited for this project. Good luck with your new home and your new job. My daughter is in her last year of school to become a teacher, she was in a classroom this year for practicum and this last year of school will mostly be practicum. She learned a lot and is excited for the opportunity.

    Thank you for making this. I really love to see you talking about your things and life. My mom was a teacher and I should have been one. I regret it! Thankfully, my older daughter inherited this gene and wants to be a teacher, although everybody tells her not to. I tell her to follow her ❤ and encourage her. Teachers have a hard life here in Portugal. A little bit everywhere I think! Such an important mission and so unappreciated sometimes. I will be thinking of you and praying and sending good vibes to the sky so they may reach you in your new home in Nova Scotia. Thank you for sharing everything. Lots of love from Lisbon 🥰 💕 ❤️ 💗 💖

    Love the pod! So happy to see someone who else gets in a silly goofy mood when filming! For the tie front top, I loooove the short sleeve idea. Something about the oversized body with fitted, decreasing sleeves (as the pattern is written) feels a little unbalanced to me, and I also think short sleeve overall just feels a bit more wearable.

  • @theknittingpaige

    thank you! I think I am going to do short sleeves and also make a modification so that the peplum is knit in the round. I saw a top like that when I was at the mall and I think it will make for some great mindless knitting and a slightly different look.

    Loved your podcast. It was funny when you said you we’re playing yarn chicken, cause my response it always knit faster like that makes sense so it was cute to see that I am not the only one. My only suggestion with the pretty green tie front top is if your yarn is going to be draped enough for that yarn, and if not I would probably go long sleeve just a suggestion

  • @theknittingpaige
    @theknittingpaige27 күн бұрын

    Thanks I think i will make them short sleeved! I'm hoping to film another podcast to have up for next week where I can talk about some other modifications I want to make. I think the yarn should drape decently well because of the silk content, but I will see how it turns it.

    If you're looking for a good intro to steeking/all over colorwork, I really really recommend the "rural symphony pullover" by Ailbiona Mclochlainn.. I finished it about a month ago and I'm OBSESSED. It's a steeked v neck with added shawl collar and steeked armholes. It's aran weight so a much quicker project to try those techniques. and she made the steek very easy and approachable. It's such a fun sweater to wear and make. Also I think short sleeves on the tie top are the way to go. love the sort of cinched short sleeve you showed on the Pinterest pic too
