    Poor Vermont. I'm a upstate NY'er who spent 14 summers(yes...summers) of my life in VT(Ludlow) on Lake Rescue and part of my heart is in that state. I am now out in CA and I hope things don't get worse. This is very sad to see. Beautiful state, Great people... If I was close I'd be heading up there to help.

    @DrekHeBreezy The big difference, is the gulf states get hit with a hurricane nearly every year where this is the worst flooding VT has had in almost 100 years. Also, I am not sure how many people in the north really felt that Katrina was a joke? Ive never heard such comments. However a good portion of New Orleans flooding was the result of poor government...a corrupt government allowed to flourish by the people of New Orleans.

    @Zoidness Simon is says he will rebuild and reopen, but the glass blowing operation there is a question mark. The Taftsville bridge survived but is closed right now. Keeping traffic off it until they can see whether there is structural problems. A bridge in Rockingham and one in Springfield also went out. Another one for a total of 4...not sure whether that was. I have a posted a video from Woodstock.

    I got to this link via FB. Unbelievable the damage to this quintisential town. I lived there as a child, and now live over the border in NH. Fortunately, this is one of the wealthier towns in the area and will rebuild. Let's hope the poorer communities fair well! BTW, only one fatality so far in VT. The rumor is some woman was swimming in a flood zone when she was wisked away...any update on this? Thank you, Angela

    My parents fled the white river to my sisters condo on sugar hill. We were able to drive up there. Hard to say how they will get down tomorrow. The water should go down as fast as it came up, but much of the road by the bridge caved in and I am worried it may be unpassible. I heard the west hartford bridge is also getting hit. Just need to wait until the morning and see.

    So horrible. Grew up in Barnard, near Quechee and this bridge is beautiful. Saw a photo of the bridge in Taftsville, just up river and hope it's okay. Water was right under it. Did this bridge really float away?

  • @KurganNazzir
    @KurganNazzir13 жыл бұрын

    I'm confused, did the bridge actually end up washing away or is it already moved in this video? I don't know the area so all I see in this video is a massive flood going over roadways. It's a nice-looking bridge, would be a shame if it is/was destroyed.
