I've loved the domes my whole life back when you had the sunken gardens

For landscape fabric... I didn't use that on my raised bed in part due to not really thinking it was needed with adding a lot of my own compost soil over top of the 'natural layer' where weed seeds from below might be, but also in part because it's plastic & so putting little plastic fibers or micro-particulate out (I guess?) into environment around. I'm curious, thinking about it now, if just completely plant fiber type burlap would last long enough to be worth putting it in. I think it would be because it's really just that first year where "weed" seeds from below the added soil might survive & make it through. But I've never tried that so I can't say if it'd be a good substitute or not.

I've found that having some sort of weed barrier at the bottom of the bed is super helpful. I'm not sure about burlap.. the holes in it would need to be small enough to not let weeds through but big enough to let water through. It's worth a shot! Putting cardboard down first can work as well. There are pluses and minuses to each method.

Nice job! I hadn't really realized how much it was my compost soil that was making it possible for me to squeeze so much productivity out of my garden. I'd just always planted things "too close" and had it work out so kept on with it. Nice to have more justifications for the practice!
