Lived in Alberta Canada my whole life, planning to move to Clayton early March next year
I would think that people are intelligent enough to know that a greater metro of a bit over 2 million is going to be a fundamentally different place than one of 6, 8, or 10 million. Secondly, I think that people should consider that there are differences between areas that are stable in population than ones that are either rapidly growing or shrinking. Lastly, I think that people aren't always aware that there are fundamental differences between West and East, North and South, etc.

I went to San Diego month ago. It was nice over there with no humidity. I wish I can live in San Diego but it too expensive. Gas was $6.00.
Yes it’s absolutely gorgeous and the food is delicious 😋 hubby grew up there and it was our home away from home on weekends & vacations 🤗 The gas prices are insane 💔

Hello! You'd want to connected with a property management co here are a couple sites you may find helpful. Also when looking for "safety" two websites I've found helpful are www.spotcrime.com and www.neighborhoodscout.com you can type in address one the first one and it shows you whats happening that now up to 6 mo and give a trend report the other shows a color heat map based on least crime to most.... here are the mgt co and other site to look up homes/apts .. It's just sad it was never a priority of the state to get people to the mountains or the beach. Serious lost opportunity to cultivate a real identity out of North Carolina's assets. In retrospect so automotive Lobby Executives could live lavish lifestyles. Their story is going to be told.
CARY actually has at least two backcronyms. "Containment Area for Relocated Yankees" is the one everyone knows but it wasn't until I volunteered for a Town Council board years ago that I learned of "Can't Annex Raleigh Yet", which I find even sillier.

I do not think that the addition of a Shake Shack outweighs the destruction of half of the wonderful fountains that my son used to so much enjoy. I am disappointed by both the loss of the tranquil space and in the decision making that was behind it.

Wow! 😮 you’ve definitely seen a lot of change! Do you still love living in Cary? We are seeing a lot of “long term” Cary residents opt to move to other towns like Fuquay Varina and Clayton now

It’s a beautiful area and it’s incredible how much it’s built up in the last 6 1/2 yrs we’ve lived here ..and more yet to come! 😄
The dollar goes a lot further in Clayton versus 🆚 Cary and Raleigh Durham
Amazing how much further and still an easy drive to most of the other towns/cities in the Triangle area 😇

That’s a really hard one..I feel like it’s more like Northern CA than So Cal personally..and it has an old historic meets new still way slower pace of life in comparison to Callie

I’m sorry 😞 you are going through this . I hear the cancellation of home insurance is a big issue both in Florida and in parts of California too
One of those "RTP" aerials is actually NC State's Centennial campus just southwest of downtown. I'd make the argument that, if your pocket can afford it, the mature neighborhoods Inside the Beltline in Raleigh are the most convenient neighborhoods and have far less hustle & bustle than many of the rapidly growing and traffic laden suburbs.
Thanks for the heads up I'll let my editor know.. yes, I agree if your pocket can afford it the neighborhoods inside the beltline are beautiful and convenient...my favorites are Cameron Village and Midtown but they still seem to have a lot of bustle these days...Mordecai and Five Points seems far less hustle & bustle its hard to believe just how close you are to downtown when you're in many of these quiet wooded neighborhoods. But you definitely need to come with your pocket book open.
@@LifeInRaleighNC Venture into Budleigh, University Park, Sunset Hills, Coley Forest, Anderson, Hayes Barton, etc., especially off the main arteries, and you'll be shocked how quite, calm and peaceful they are. As you say, it's especially shocking just how close you are to downtown in these areas, while also being convenient to North Hills, Crabtree, 440 and 40 to RTP.
Preston In Cary has a very nice golf ⛳️ course and nice houses 🏠

Like other metro cities it has its issues there are good and not so good areas. Two websites that I like to use that I've found helpful are neighborhoodscout.com which shows a color chart on safest to least safest areas and then spotcrime.com which you can type in any address and it'll show you surrounding issues that police have been called out for. You can also see "trends" for the city... in this case Durham this past mo trend shows overall crime M.o.M. is down 7%, property crime down 9% and violent crime is down 5%.

NC sucks big time, super boring, ugly, worse climate, mediocre economy, and the people are less educated. I feel bad for anyone whose leaving CA for NC or any other part of the south due to poor circumstances. Big downgrade in quality of life.
