Why is Cody so negative ? Does he go into competition already reasoning why he lost ?

wow! that helps a ton man! I always squeezed my ball because it was going to come out on my back swing. I never knew the thumb hole had to be THAT tight. that makes a lot of sense now.

I know a really good bowler in pba regional. Tremendous talent but he's a mental midget. Way too emotional. Throws stuff, kicks stuff and melts down. If you wanna win in any sport you can't do that. Gotta be calm and cool bro. Better learn it.

IMHO Cody needs a new mental game if what he said he really thinks. He never gets any breaks, and everyone else does. Automatically that puts you in a bad frame of mind the whole day.

Cody needs to focus on his game, not outside factors. If something is not working, work on it, TRY to adjust, dont blame others. Easier said than done, absolutely... but it's all up to your focus and execution

Thanks JR. Once I got use to the feeling of flexing the thumb the other way it gave me a much more consistent release without hanging up.

Seems like there are alot of variables that would make getting an accurate rev rate a difficult task. It would seem to me that rev rates are always changing based on things such as what ball you are using and the lane conditions, which are always changing as you bowl more and more games. There are other factors as well. It is hard for me to grasp how anyone could actually know their rev rate when it is probably something that is not consistent.

I'm gonna try that finger brushing the pant leg mindset next time I bowl. I have a problem with getting around the ball too much 2 handed and my track rolls over the finger holes.

Nice...are your balls drilled with 2 holes or 3?

  • @shaneimler9328

I've been looking for years for a ball to replace the ball I had split thumb to thumb with no success. I had the original Black Widow. My local guy, out of the box, drilled it with a pin about 2 inches above the fingers. Then he 500 grit sanded it. He then lightly, and I mean lightly polished it. He then 3000 grit hand scuffed it. That ball hooked on anything. The center I bowl at likes oil, which it not a bad thing until they seem to have a sale on oil some weeks and can't get anything to move. I tried several balls with this method and asked a few pro shop guys and no success. Was even told by a couple that it's not possible with modern equipment. My ball speed down lane is around 17mph and rev rate is around 325
