I have watched the original NFB black and white version several times. While the colorized version is an improvement, the voiceover and music is most definitely not. The video speaks for itself.

I do not understand whyu this series is called ALASKA EXTREME. This series is filmed in Central Arctic, Canada, nowhere near Alaska. Alaska is way west of us. And it is not pronounced Tuck too, it pronounced Took-two. It means caribou.

These people are from the Netsilik area of central Arctic Canada, not Alaska. I knew some of these people. We come from east of the state of Alaska, USA, at the very north end of Hudson Bay in Canada.

So much respect for these folks. Theres really no comparison between these native people and those found in the CONUS when it comes to material ingenuity and technology. These folks live in much harsher environment and developed far more specualized tools and their communities worked more together instead of intertribal warfare. I would imagine the harsh environment made collective labor, skill and development important for survival compared to warmer more easy locstions.
