I drove one on track last Sunday,what a car 60 years old❤❤
I live in the States but I would love to own such a car. Way ahead of its time.
Yap session
2 door Panamera
S3 or bmw 235i gran coupe??
0 to 60 is quoted by lotus as 4.2 seconds for the std elise S , the club racer is about 30kg lighter....i am told
lc500 does it better.
Why all wheel drive ?
Perhaps your local regulatory agency has strangled the exhaust note of your test Audi S3. Here is the States, my 2023 S3 sounds quite a bit better than the sound clip you offered in this video. In fact, I think it sounds better than the 2016 VW Golf R that I had prior to this car. As you mentioned, I think a nice air intake system (I like APR Racing) and perhaps a cat back exhaust system would work wonders for your car. I believe APR is working on a cat back system, but they haven't released one yet. While I will consider one, I won't go for a raising-a-ruckus variety like I've heard on KZread. I've had my share of "raw" vehicles, and maybe I'm getting old, but the U.S. version of the S3 is a great daily driver with plenty of fun for me.
Cc is 1558 not 1557😢
Reality is that they do 165 mph ( proven )
Awesome take, the Porsche passing under the bridge and the steam locomotive un top. It's like a look at the past and the future at the same time.
Well that’s a confusing review 🤷♂️
No it’s not - that belongs to the manual, real wheel drive, real wheel steering, MANUAL, GTS. End of story.
Wrong
@@talkingwithgenz1912 LMAO - you’re so clueless 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Enjoy your Gucci thong in your Bentley lawn ornament. I’ll be in my GT3 not a GTS
Great review. I do like the point that you’re talking about the 911 without decades of 911 experience. It gives the review an even more objective point of view.
My son recently accuired a 992 c4s and i have a 991.1 c2s w/akropovic exhaust and to be honest I like my na engine car better. Sorry son.
Its hard to watch British reviews because of the orientation of the vehicle...
As a teenager in the 60s this was the car we cruised and ragged around in...after marriage in 1970 I bought a mk2 cortina lotus the only thing to beat it was RUST!
The most famous lotus cortina mk1 was Bruce Reynolds he planned great train robbery in his car when police finally caught up with him it was confiscated and put in police compound for many years and when it went to auction I do believe Colin chapman of lotus brought it it only had 3,800 miles on clock but story doesn’t end there it was also first registered lotus cortina mk1 on road
👍👍👍👍
Awesome video when muted
That's amazing Ford let you borrow their Lotus!
Would love the white version. Need a lotto win though 🙏🤣
anyone: fully loaded 2022 Audi S3 or 2022 Genesis G70!?!?!? (Theyre the same price)
They won’t be when eventually come to sell/ trade in.
Depreciation is low though ,although a fair chunk of cash
awe, you got to drive a mk 1 Cortina, but factor in that you could implement all 100 of its HP, indicates chassis balance that #3 BMW's dream of, once they hoist that inside front wheel, you are ultimate
why zepphers,,my grandpa drove a blue one
Pretty cool. Where can I do this with my Lotus?
just got 1 based on this review, its a great car, but also safe as houses for families
Nice one Dave 👍
Nice video buddy ..I am a Lotus fan , the one thing that bugs me about it is .. its made in China .. yes I know they are owned by a Chinese company , but why not build it in the UK ? Range Rover , Bentley , Rolls Royce and Aston build their SUV's in the UK !! What about the high wages in UK I hear you ask .. yes well Lamborgini build theirs in Italy and even Porche build theirs in even higher wage Germany .. can you see a pattern here ? .. I know some people will say that Hethel is not big enough .. but there is plenty of land around Hethel which Lotus owns ...
I think it’s mostly due to scale and ability to do it in a profitable way. I’m sure they looked at UK production but profit will always beat provenance. Thankfully the sports-car devision will stay at Hethel. One thing I failed to cover in the video is that the car is not developed at Hethel in any way. If I remember correctly, the platform is developed in Sweden, some more in Germany, the design is from Coventry and the production is in China. But this is normal for the car industry.
Nice piece mate. 👍😊
OK I get it, as much as it makes me want to gag. But an SUV that's heavy and low, with 600 HP and 3 seconds to 100? No effin way! This car ain't going anywhere offroad, unless it's off the road into your driveway, or into a ditch. And if it tries going offroad, it's only coming back on the back of a truck. This IS a cash grab, and it shows in their promotion, which is just slick and pretentious. Not even the obligatory shots splashing through a puddle with kids and smiling couple conquering the outback? They don't even pretend this thing is an offroader, and nor should they.
It’s funny, one of the things that most of thought on the night was how refreshing it was that Lotus made absolutely zero claims about off-road capability. These things never get used for that so why compromise it’s design. Design it for how it’ll be used. Personally I’d stick with a Range Rover but this car has the potential to finally make Lotus a global brand.
@@AVERAGEPETROLHEAD or a global laughing stock
I'm waiting for a hybrid one probably around 2025.
Very well done...probably 75k subs within 1 year.
Nope
lol, hasn’t even broken 1k after 3 years 😂
Great content and deserves many more views and followers. 🙋🏻♂️👍🏻
Back in the early 60s as a high school kid I fell in love with that car. After my 6 year tour in the US Army I was able to buy a nice MK l a 1966 model in 1977. I drove the crap out of that car every chance I got. l loved it. Rebuilt the engine in 1979 and sold the car in 1980. Would love to have it back now.
A true classic car 👍
The very best review of this on KZread, I love mine, but I did win it in a competition, which helps! Like driving my Defender, this puts a smile on my face, utterly bonkers.
First time I saw one of these was in the centre of Manchester in 1971.It set off from a set of traffic lights like a bullet and the noise of a formula one racing car, never heard a sound as good as that on any modern car.
Awesome car. I'd imagine the equivalent to me worshiping a sierra cosworth when I was a school boy when I walked past a moonstone blue 3dr cosworth.
Is it underpowered!
The most honest review of the raptor I've noticed unlike those sensationalist and biased aussie reviews.
4:33 how you get passed up by a truck?
Hands level means you can steer lock to lock faster, and always know where the wheels are. With good technique you can also change gear when the car needs it, regardless of the steering input. To be honest I am too mechanically sympathetic to abuse my S2 like this. The limits of the Elise are way beyond most drivers talent level, and way beyond what anyone should get too on the road. Nice vid.
Superb review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks Chris!
For what its worth, I recently fitted Spax shock absorbers. Hand made to order, as good as Bilsteins, and much cheaper. Added bonus is that they have 24 settings, and are easy to adjust.
you have absolutely no ideea what you are talking about :))
Pipe down Pauly
Nearly 40K and 310 hp........"Entry level hot hatch" You lost me at that point................
Totally get what you’re saying but the context was that it’s Audi’s entry level hot hatch. Given the Focus ST starts at £30k and the Golf R starts at exactly £40k, it’s not that surprising from a price perspective (although between you and me, I would rather own the Focus). Sadly all cars are just getting more expensive. People buy on monthly payments, not list price.
Looks stunning! Nice video 👍
Lotus will never make much money. Just another desperate attempt to be relevant.
I can understand your pessimism but I’ve not felt a buzz around a sports car like this far a very long while. I’ve been a motoring journalist for 12 years now and have been working with Lotus since 2012 and this is not like their previous efforts. Plus they’ve taken literally thousands of deposits for the Emira. I think this will be different but only time will tell.
