This has now become my prayer. God has been leading me with showing me words and scriptures in moments of spontaneous worship and we sing to an original song melody, but it becomes it’s own song. I don’t define myself as a psalmist, only as a worship leader but I believe God is taking me to this place of becoming a psalmist. So after listening to this, my prayers have changed. 🙌🏾

Sorry to ask this basic question but in literal terms what exactly is a psalmist and the difference between a psalmist and worship leader? In literal terms not what was stated in the video. Sorry i need more break down cause i have moments like this and want to understand its differences
Episode 1 and the upcoming Episode will go more in depth with this question; but for quick reference a Psalmist is a writer and composer of sacred songs. Worship leaders are individuals who lead congregations into a spaces and moments of worship with God. Both voices should lead to encounters. However, the worship leader can be more generalized in gathering the focus and setting it on God, while as the Psalmists can administer a song that’s more specific to moments & seasons ultimately based on the heart of God.

Me and my friend were just talking about this. I can’t even began to explain the frustration I as a psalmist being a worship leader and feeling trapped. The years of not feeling like no one understood and not having the language to express these very words. Now I’m seeing more people like myself. It’s been truly liberating and i thank God for that.

I understand the pink rose concept very well. I think the issue is being comfortable knowing your a pink rose and owning it, cultivate it and sometimes those who invite pink roses to minister may not always know where to place them. They just know is unique and they appreciate it.

This is so goood! This is bringing so much understanding to my experiences and how God has been developing me over the years. I’ve never felt comfortable with a structured song, but I thrive in prophetically flowing. And a few months ago I wanted to quit singing altogether because I was so frustrated with not feeling skilled at leading worship. But my spiritual mom told me “Alicia, you’re not a worship leader, you’re a psalmist”. So, it’s all starting to really make sense. This is on time. Can’t wait for the next episode. ❤
