IT WAS SO MUCH HELPFULL
Please please please somebody point me in the right direction. I need to do exactly this, but with 4 sides of my block able to turn on and off independently. Does that mean I need to set up each "move" parameter with 8 "lengths" each, with a total of 32 "sizes", and then instead of a double lookup, I would need an octo-lookup??? Or do I just need two "sizes" for each side (on and off) and then a 64-lookup parameter to control the whole block? Is there a video that shows how to do this?
The latter is closer; each length parameter needs as many options as that associated visibility set, so just 2 for each "on/off." The lookups stay as a pair, but the one with lengths needs every possible combination, so 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16 lines in that lookup, with associated 16 actual visibility states.
Super helpful! Really good work.
how can you do something like this but with text?
second
Awesome! I love squarells! Thank you!
What font your make?
Forkrjr
Im the first one finally!!
Just another little tip, You can right click items and go to Object Visibility and select Show for all States or Hide for all States. Way easier than having to go through every visibility state and turning them on/off
CAN YOU DO 3 OR 4 LOOKUPS?
thank's a lot... u r a genious
This is stunning! Problem I did have for a long time, with a lot of blocks! This works perfect!
Muito bom! Parabéns pela publicação. Very good! Congratulations on the publication.

THANK YOU, YOU SAVED MY JOB!!!!!, THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU
+Pedro N Ospina H. Glad I could help!
in the early game, mining mech is practically the BEST card you can get, completely irrelevant what you bought before. seeing that you were even thinking there was already painful, then you bought the ravager and i was like wtf man. i then skipped to the end to see the result - wasnt surprised^^ besides that, corvette isnt that awesome if your not going yellow already
Chris Stoni I really regretted that decision in the end; three trade, faction damage and scrap from deck one would have meant a drastically different game. Live and learn (hopefully)!
I wish it was easier to double-click, and it feels wrong not having a Chat option, to at least say hi, or Good Game, or say "hey sick play" etc
I can see both sides for chat, but now that we have real-time games the argument is much stronger. I do miss double-click to play though; but controller support almost makes up for it for me personally (not fully until you can access menus).
This is great! I am currently working on something similar and I found this video to be very helpful, but now I'm stuck. When I delete the block and drop it in a new window my items are showing and listed correctly in both Lookups... but my items are not switching. They seem to be stuck on the first visibility status. Mind you, I am adding more items that you have in this video. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
I'm not sure entirely I follow what exactly you mean by "drop it in a new window," as that could refer to several different actions. My general advice when working on any blocks though is to delete all copies, PURGE them from the drawing, and re-insert if changes don't seem to show up correctly. Hope that helps! (If not, feel free to head to the AutoCAD sub-reddit and we can go further into depth on whatever is happening.)
hi, really enjoying your videos, can you tell me the approximated time of wait for online play? Is there enough people to play regularly?
Thanks! I mostly play 3 minute games (there's also a 48 hour option), so I can really only speak to those with much authority. (Most of my games are vs AI, since they tend to be done at places without reliable internet access; at home, my games are mostly intended for here, so I do 3 minutes to make sure I can get videos out every week.) I generally play in the evening Easter US time, and I think the longest I've had to wait to get a match was two minutes or so. Generally I would recommend the 48 hour games though, as the servers are notoriously fickle; not horrible on a 48 hour game, but enough to cause issues from time to time on 3 minute games. I should also note that I only play "vanilla" (no expansions purchased), and I don't really know much about how that affects things. If you ever want to know more details, I highly recommend checking out the Facebook group (with tons of helpful & active players) at facebook.com/groups/starrealmsfanpage/
Thank you sir!
You're quite welcome! Feel free to let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see a video on. :)
Any kind of advanced techniques like this would be awesome (dynamic block related or otherwise)! There's lots of info out there to do basic stuff but this video is really handy. I'm going to try to use it for a weld symbol block (toggle off/on things like field weld flag, all around, tail note, etc. Might get complex but I think it would be better than having a huge list of multiple options in one visibility state to choose from. Thanks again for sharing this! :)
First
+RenoIsAwesome I'll second that! :P
I think you might be greatly undervaluing scrap. The Patrol Mech and Brain World were easy picks in those situations, I think - especially since you didn't end up spending your last 2 gold anyway, so your "4 is kinda expensive" argument doesn't really hold up.
Adrian Petrescu I generally love scrap and go for it perhaps more than I should. ;) I didn't want to take the Patrol Mech into account heavily for that though, since it has to faction to scrap and I only had one other red at the time. As for the Brain World - yeah that was likely a better buy, but I was being greedy, and hoped I could get both Mothership that turn, and Brain World the next. I ended up getting a lot of value from the Mothership, but would have likely got as much from Brain World, and only had as much from Mothership because of lucky draws. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm hoping you'll keep it up on my online match videos - I need it!
I saw you on the Star Realms subreddit
Awesome! Don't forget to tell your friends, I can't do all of the shameless promotion by myself! :D
Hey man, I really enjoy your general style and look forward to seeing some online games!
Thanks for the inspiration! (The creepy, creepy inspiration...) :P After typing that, I really hope my assumption regarding your user name is correct.
good ide to convert into dynamic block :D
Thanks! I find it usually is, for anything that doesn't require a spreadsheet to plan out. For those... it's a tougher call. :)
