    Hammered the tarpon with this fly in Belize this past January. It's the only fly the guides wanted to use when fishing deeper channels, but it worked well in the rivers too. It is also excellent in red/white!

    Cool, going to put leader on a bunch of circle hooks instead of tying them direct when we are already fishing.

    Could I use this for fly line to leader?

    Mike: would you be comfortable using this knot on a 11 wt line to backing for large tarpon

    Can other types of eyes like beadchain be used to have a variety of weights?

  • @OleFloridaFlyShop
    @OleFloridaFlyShopАй бұрын

    of course!! It's actually expected that you have multiple weights of bonefish patterns. Just ensure it is heavy enough to flip over the hook to ride the hook-point up.

    Havent fished a fly that big in years there and why would you use metal eyes...unless your fishing deep?

    Beautiful little baitfish. I can't stop myself from adding one red strand to the second last bottom head clump to simulate gills. Most likely doesn't help and might actually make it worse.

    headed to flamingo in a month or so. went last year with a box full of tarpon toads. only managed to jump a smaller one with chartreuse and tan and black and purple variations. was wondering if this would work for the tarpon out in the florida bay, or if it was more specifically for the backcountry side like whitewater bay. do you think a chartreuse variation of this fly would work too? thanks man love your vids

    Stopped in the shop and bought this kit, tied up three of them and caught my first Snook at the beach. Great pattern and great support by posting the tying instructions on KZread.

    Haha. You're not wrong. Alot of rhythm in music from the 70s on could be considered James Brown. Sometimes things just universally work. Does the seducer own splayed feathers like James brown technically owns rap music? Haha

    I've got these pliars. I also gave a set to a friend in The UK. I like them but i heard some complaints. Mostly it was that they were too large and you need a rotating vise......sigh. To me they were digging deep for this complaint. On a 360 rotating vise you will find these more than adequate in my opinion. I have a pile of hackle pliars, all of which "Sort," of work. These are better in my opinion.
