Is that because he came here?

It has been moved and is now at the Manor carpark entrance.
That's good to know . Must nip down and have a look.

I wonder what happened to the other 20 % ?
Was very upset when the wax museum closed down. I loved it there

Ellacombe Chimes on tubular bells (long poles with hammers). Nowhere near as tuneful as real bells but a cheaper option I guess
I remember many holidays and great family memories of my childhood in 70s/80s here. I remember the boat you could play on outside the clubhouse and some great nights there. So sad to see it in this state now
Gorgeous scenery especially West Wight. I think it's filmed at Freshwater Down by the military Road looking back to Compton Bay. Haven't been back to the Isla d in years and would be interesting to see a comparison now with the erosion by Compton and Military Road. Thanks for showing the whole film was lovely.
Wow

The original had so much charm
You can tell it is old footage. The floating bridge is working!
When does the ride open?
There is a blink and you'll miss it clue in the film 👍
I wonder what is actually left of this now? beneath all the overgrown plants etc
I have a video but won't put it up on here.
Hillmans, Morris's and Fords, all made in England...

Have you been to watermouth castle before? It also has a humpty dumpty
So excited to go here again this year! 😊
I can’t wait to go to black gang it’s so fun! 😊
Is that music from My 40 Favourite Nursery Rhymes?
Ask Blackgang Chine .
I live in Lake and am fascinated by this area, so much history but also so very sad that these communities are now lost! Very moving video and music. Thank you ❤ On the music side that sounds like a Roland D50 'soundtrack' patch ?
Great to see it in the centre of the park, also love the little thing that sits on top of the barrel and squirts water, nice little addition 😂
Am i right in thinking that the jolly robin is colossus from robin hill!?
You're correct. It was Colossus. It has gone for a full refurbishment and due at Blackgang Chine in June.
Nice to see it a bit more prominent. Much too easy to miss where it was hidden away.
Surely the council own it as it was donated to them and sited by them? If not put in the gardens then the local museum should have it, can't be left to fall into oblivion.
Whaley lives on, now with a gold tooth!
Looking good! Nice to see it getting some love. Is there still the water spray? Im praying the Jolly Robin arrives soon!
The water spray is in the video as is the date for the jolly robins opening.
Fantastic, thank you all!
Thank you. From 1962 to 1973, my family used this ferry crossing every year. Brings back the joy of arriving and the sadness of the return.....and the greater sadness of going back to work!

Adrenaline
Is it still there
Yes it looks great can’t wait to go in it
Hi, thanks for posting these pics. I’ve often wondered how to access this area. I’ve seen the brick structure (second to last slide) from the beach below and walked along the cliff above. But can’t work out how to get to it. In the early 90s rode bikes along old rd and had to scramble across some dodgy slopes to get to car park at end of old blackgang road, wish I’d of known the site was there then. Any tips would be much appreciated, Also some of the paths there don’t look that overgrown.
You kind of answered your own question. The easiest route is from Old Blackgang Road. Around the wooden fence, down and up the slopes (there is an unofficial route) it then heads in towards the cliff. We went half a dozen times in the winter so should be quite overgrown now. And less slippy.

A rare opportunity. Amazing caves around there.
Going to walk out around the needles in a couple of weeks from the beach at Alum Bay.
Loving the colours, nice to see an old attraction being restored and placed in the heart of the park, rather than being scrapped like lots of other things.
Looks great 🏝️ I do like the mural on containers but can’t help but feel they could have put something a bit more exciting/imaginative there, perhaps the walk through whale 🐳 would have been good here instead and would have fit in with the beach theme. Then again it’ll be nice to have it in the heart of the park.
When is the pirate ship been installed?
That was so fun me and my cosins when on it
Lol I when on that last Thursday it was so fun
The goalkeeper was it Gorden Banks? Went a couple of times when I lot of old Blackpool players went happy days 👍
Gosh, that brings back memories ! I had a summer job at the candy floss and hot dog stall at Billy Mannings . I remember the morning my O -level results came in 😊
its still there . 5 cm narrower and steps meshed up , and many fallen rocks , but there is a video that someone climbs through it . Ofcourse very dangerous , and I wouldend advice anyone going there . Just look at his video on yt.
Everyone had a look the day after.
Such a shame 😮
