Would you recommend both drive shafts or just a front?
Hi do I need to change driveshaft if I'm putting liftkit 4.5 ? On jeep wrangler JL and brake lines ?
With a 4.5" kit it would be highly recommended!
3:35 Do I need to order different shocks with the 2.5" overland plus lift or can I use the stock Rubicon shocks? if I need new shock. can I order through you guys to make sure I get what is for the kit?
New shocks are recommended for best results, as factory shocks are going to be a bit too short, and extensions unfortunately won't provide additional travel. When you're looking at the kits on our website, click on the "related items" tab down near the description, and you'll find all of the shocks we offer along with some other parts that go along specifically with the kit you are viewing :)
So installing this kit doesnt require any spacers to be used on the driveshaft?
392 owner here and have spent hours researching best lift for me, and this video I think is the deciding factor, our 392 is my wife's daily driver and 100% on road (I know, mall crawler) I was down to like 3 brands , seeking a 3.5 inch lift, I believe at this point my money is best spent on Clayton overland kit, I will have to decide on shocks yet, but my biggest concern or question to you or your viewers, will I need a new drive shaft? (For viewers chiming in keep in mind 392 doesn't have FAD, so front drive shaft turns at all times) thanks
Hey there! It depends how much off-roading you plan on doing with the Jeep, as that is what really wears away the factory driveshaft. We like to say it's recommended but not required, however, since the 392 does not have the FAD, it does become increasingly more important the taller you go. A 3.5" lift that is mainly used as a daily driver will be totally fine though, give us a call if you have any more questions, always happy to help!
You could actually answer the question, to the title of the video. How much extra weight are they rated for?
how does the new crossmember manage to accommodate both the aw4 and ax15? is there a spacer plate provided?
I know colors don't help you offroad lol but man I wish you could order components in different colors like red control arms. Jeep is one of if not the most customizable vehicle on the market, people enjoy making it their own.
If you're looking to have the control arms custom powder coated, just let us know before we ship your order and we will send all of the components without the bushings pressed in!
@@ClaytonOffRoad good to know that's awesome
Thank you for this. I’ll neeed in in a few weeks when I put on my Clayton 3.5” overland lift.
It's good?
Can you please update with a review of the system…shocks used and on/off road manners…would be appreciated!
Excellent video guys!
Do you share these joints with Synergy or is there a different manufacturer?
Hello. Same manufacturer, but its possible the sizes, and fitment vary.
@@adamwycislo9758 thank you for the info
How are the Clayton giiro bushings different than Synergy dual durometer bushings?
Is that track bar for an xj? It looks different on the website. I’m referring to SKU: COR-4500502

Hi Matt
Hey Matt
Love mine ! 👊🏼
Only the best 🤙🏻
waiting on the 2in lift kit for the JKU
Coming soon!
Because we beat the crap out of this suspension and it keeps kicking! We love it!
Will this Work for wj ?
Do these kits level the Jeep? Specifically the Overland Plus kit. I’m about ready to order a RSI Smartcap and don’t want to end up nose high.
None of our kits remove all of the factory rake, pretty much for this very reason! Our kits leave around an inch of rake, and our rear coil springs are able to handle a good amount of weight before coming down below level. We do also have some optional HD rear coil springs available if somebody plans on running a lot of added weight, and these can be found under our "related items" tab on our website :)
the Clayton suspension systems said look they are well thought throw system, as l just pick up a 2018 jeep with a blow motor and tranyy and getting the 392 and tranny for the rebuild and project..
Hey guys! Great video! I just recently put the clayton ride right lift 3.5" with fox shocks on my gladiator. At first it felt smooth and nice. Then I put 35" tires on it and since it has felt so bumpy. I can feel EVERY bump and it's kinda making me sad. Did I do something wrong?
What PSI are you running in the 35's ? I'd drop down into the low 30's to start if you aren't already there.
I’m running the TeraFlex Outback springs however I think a change up is needed just changed up to the overland plus arms might as well complete the setup 😂 not to Mention Jenn will have them here like in 2 days 😂
how much misalignment in the giro joint vs metalcloak??
Giiro joints allow for 27 degrees of misalignment, not sure what other brands are saying at the moment. However, bushings/joints will not be your limiting factor for flex on any short arm lift kit or short control arm system, it will always be the shocks and springs. For example, our Premium arms allow for slightly more misalignment because of the Johnny Joints, but both kits end up with the exact same amount of flex and can fully stuff the tire size the kit is designed for. So a 2.5" Overland Plus kit and a 2.5" Premium kit would both be able to fully stuff a set of 37" tires on a Rubicon model with no rubbing. Same thing if you were using our coil springs and a set of Metalcloak control arms, you would end up still being able to fully stuff the tires with no rubbing, but would be limited by shock travel and bump stops from going any further. Hopefully this helps!
Great i found the rear HD spring coil 3.5 from your online shop, but i cant choose the front coil spring for Mojave gladiator , please help me
Hello, any of our coil springs will fit the front of the Mojave model as there are no changes to the weight or suspension there. Give us a call if you're having a hard time choosing which springs to purchase 203 691 8593
The problem is if you aren't planning on additional weight it will result in a stiff ride...
The optional HD springs are only intended for those carrying a lot of extra weight and need something stronger than our standard offerings. We would not recommend somebody just install the HD spring without a need for them, however, they would not result in a stiff ride for a lighter vehicle, they would just remove a lot more dive and body roll.
Love my overland plus 2.5 with Falcon Sp2 3.5 E adjust. Rig flexes amazing with 37s and chopped fenders. Don't have those dope Clayton stickers on my control arms....would be sweet. Spent the extra on a quality alignment and Reid Racing Knuckles..
HD Springs, keeps the rake!
Hey its Matt! Welp, if you switched gigs I'm glad youre still in the off-road industry!
First off, I love my Clayton Suspension! I went with the 3.5” Overland Plus kit and HD rear Springs. I’m running Rancho RS9000XLs as a budget option. So far the stock steering and driveshaft have held up (10mo. 15k+miles). It’s an overland rig, so I’m not crawling boulders, but we’re off the pavement almost every weekend with 37x13.50 Toyo MTs and steel wheels and loaded pretty heavy with RTT, Gear, and a 79lbs kayak. We went up some pretty steep and rocky roads on this last trip, and the Clayton Lift climbed with confidence!
Awesome to hear!!
Matt!! what you doing here😮
Your with Clayton Off-Road now?
Matt and Ryan are just helping us to film some FAQ content!
On my list ! I’ve been waiting for a video like this in comparison of both arms it helped make my decision 👍🏼. Thanks
Matt!
This is a cool part, however, on my 2015 JK, I had already had your 3 link long arm kit with axle truss installed, and it was a pain in the ass getting this part in, with the axle truss installed. I got it done. This part should be included with your long arm kit, or at least, highly recommended that you get it, and install this bracket, before the truss goes on. Other than that, your parts are awesome!
That music slaps!
Do you make one longer for the shock assembly
Do that bracket works for the rear track bar ? Top bracket
So I'm having trouble removing my stock hardware. Does the stock hardware come with a flattened nut also? And if so is that keeping me from getting the damn thing out?
So much noisy music!
What brand is it
Clayton Off Road
I ordered this lift this week for my 2022 JTR, the Clayton 2.5 overland performace package. Hope the install goes as easy as shown. Lift is due to be delivered Saturday. Do you guys have an installiaton video of the JL/JT CURRECTLYNC STEERING SYSTEM that's included in that kit?
Give us a call or shoot us an email if you run into any issues. Unfortunately, we don't have a video on the Currie Steering, but instructions are available on our website for this product!
What tire size?
37's on this particular install
Hi ClaytonOffRoad, this is Kyra from Issyauto,a professional brand dedicated to producing the best car parts. We would like to invite you to do a review on our mudflaps for your JL. Would you have interest in working together? Look forward to hearing from you!
I absolutely love my Clayton overland plus 3.5” lift ! Thank y’all so much for such a great product 👍👍🇺🇸
any thoughts on what will it do for an Xtreme Recon 392 - they come with more stiffer shocks (not sure if springs are different too)?
XR has 1/2" less lift than the standard 392, but the only difference is that you do not need to use the front bump stop extensions that come in the kit. Other than that everything fits and works exactly the same.
Nice
Would love to know if the 9/16 bushing can be pressed into a stock or moog track bar. Bushing size looks the same in your guys other video on this upgrade kit.
Looks like on their website they say you can use their bushing on an existing trackbar. I'm trying to figure out if I can drill out my existing trackbar bushing to fit the 9/16 bolt in this kit.
@@Alpha-ms9nj i already did it. Didnt use claytons bushing as moog has a two piece poly bushing and my track bar axle side mounting holes were a little short of being wallowed out to 9/16. Did a little filing so the bolt would fit and drilled out the existing sleeve and ive been daily driving with no more death wobble.
@@Alpha-ms9nj this was a new cherokee for me and i was getting death wobble with a brand new track bar. Replaced all the steering sway bar links and bushings and stabilizer with no luck till i saw the track bar bolt was still moving and it was all bc the bolt holes were wallowed out. 🤦🏻♂️
@@alale923 - Good to hear. My TB bolt hole is no where near the 9/16. Barely even 7/16 size. I just got a new TB from Oreilly's (lifetime warranty) and upon installing it AND tightening down the TB bolt to 60 fps with torque wrench, I have no more bolt movement, only very slight movement from the rubber bushing which is considered normal. I will say Claytons responded to my email fast and seem like good folks to deal with and will give them my business should I need them. Glad it worked out for you. Hopefully mine stays put also.
@@Alpha-ms9nj i snapped my clayton track bar bolt and nut but that was my own fault over torqueing while i was still unaware of the wallowed out hole. I still re used the flag nut after removing the broken stud on my other cherokee. Definitely well built and ill buy more in the future.
I just bought the kit. Looking forward to to installing the new kit! Thanks
How did that kit work out?
