I am considering pads for my arabian. She has the arabian high/low in the front. However, I wonder if she needs it at all. Her right front (low) seems to grow outward in the toe quicker(it SEEMS) this hoof has a frog nearly level with the sole and it is very flat. Perhaps she should be shoed???
Excellent info!
Thanks Steve Kraus, now I'll definitely win the Steel Ball Run and get $50M!
Where can I find a farrier to install this type of clog in Colorado?
4 Europe = 5 USA city had. 5 E =6 city had, 6 E= 7 city had, or slm right Mr,
TY for you video. I actually use this technique for my horses rear feet. She is 12 years old and STILL kicks and bites when her feet need to be cleaned. Once the foot is up, she is fine. HOWEVER, I cannot hitch her and I fear she will hurt herself yanking her head away when I do this. She has already broke her halter. I need your help because regardless of how much we do this, she is very smart and when I am guarding from a front kick or bite, she kicks with the rear. The rear is a battle and I don't want her to be afraid. HELP!!
Mamasota
Wahoo so smart
What type of wheel/grit are you using in the video? Very informational! Thank you
Do you address the diet and management of the horse as species specific before you put the clog on?
Chapman doesn’t find good talent, they find him.
Stormin Norman “steve Norman” got to meet steve when i apprenticed for some farriers at churchhill n keenland! He’s a machine!! Hope he’s still around and well!
Liked this video a lot. I've seen the lead rope lift a few times but never with enough explanation of the steps . Nice job. Ps not familiar with the dude but 👍👍
So sad that videos relating to hoof care simple don't get watched very much. Drives me crazy that horse owners don't take it more seriously
I am so pleased to hear the section on the environment. A dry hoof is a healthy hoof i something I'm constantly telling my clients. I'll be recommending this video. Thank you
This is my favorite set up. Seems like a real study trailer.
I tried this but my horse barely picks up back leg and if she does 1 second then slams it down
what is the total length of the stock??
I am interested in learning this skill. Can you recommend someone who can teach me this is in western US? I am not interested in schools. Thank you.
Way cool. I just picked up one similar. I plan on making a welding trailer out of it.
Does that mean you shouldn’t sharpen the back?
Brass hammer and hardy a thing of the past now???
Please stress to them about preserving their bodies, medically retired from shoeing due to many injuries. Spinal injuries are no joke and are a career changer for sure!
Hello. Is there any company where we could order such xustomized van?
Thanks Roy
So cool, even after all these years, still awesome.
Amen. " God kept my body together "
Great break down of the school and the way in which it is taught
Could this also be used to treat thrush
As a 3 week farrier student at kpu. I love your teaching
Thank you!!
Is CBD competition safe? I don’t feel like listening to an hour of this - my attention span has been corrupted by the internet. I don’t think it is competition safe, however.
Correct, CBD is banned in most competitions.
Hey doc miss you here in Utah
Excellent video. Lot of info.
Why are you doing this to these poor horses? It’s not good ! Please don’t do it to these poor ponies they don’t deserve to this
the pads don’t hurt

Brilliant ❗️Thanks for sharing
Very educational and interesting video. Thank you for sharing this!
nice video thanks for posting
Hey this guy taught me how to make shoes. He is a great instructor and craftsman.
Glad to see young people learning a valuable skill that can't be outsourced!
Молодец мужик мантировки. И щипцы просто фантастика !
Wow his voice is nice to listen to
Thanks for the Great video. Will you guys do a video about Cornell University Farrier Program, East Coast Horseshoeing School, or VT Farrier Program? I live on the east coast in the DC area.
Very nice and functional rig. Well thought out and designed. I know it is much less than a custom built one and he can get the job done. He probably saved $20k building it himself.
I'd love to know if that is the same Colin Smith I learnt my trade under. I'm a farrier in Australia and our trade school teacher at the time was a fella from the uk by the name of Colin Smith. Terrific fella and a incredible tradesman and teacher. Had a huge impact on the industry over here.
9:28 toes are still quite long and the breakover is too forward but P3 is aligned nicely.
I've known Icelandics my whole life and I had no idea about all these shoeing rules.
No reason to rasp off the protective layer of the hoof.
Perfect
